Jarrod Murphy
Jarrod Murphy is a British Formula One aerodynamicist. He is currently the aerodynamics director at the Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport Formula One team. Biography Murphy started his career in motorsport as a stress analyst for the Benetton F1 team in 1996. He then moved into CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics), becoming the head of CFD at Renault in 2006. In 2013 he moved to Mercedes to become the chief aerodynamicist before becoming the head of aerodynamics at Mercedes in 2017. In July 2021 he was promoted to Aerodynamics Director covering a broader remit and effectively replacing Mike Elliott who was promoted to technical director. Renault, a French automobile manufacturer, has been associated with Formula One as both team owner and engine manufacturer for various periods since 1977. Mike Elliott (Formula One)
Mike Elliott (born 4 June 1974) is a British Formula One aerodynamicist. He was the chief technical officer at the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. He left Mercedes in October 2023. Biography Elliott started his career in motorsport in 2000 as an aerodynamicist for McLaren. In 2003, he then became a trackside aerodynamicist before progressing on to being the team leader for aerodynamic performance at McLaren in 2006. In 2008, he moved to the Renault F1 Team to become the principal aerodynamicist, he stayed with the Enstone team until 2012 when he moved to Mercedes to become the head of aerodynamics. In 2017, he replaced Geoff Willis as technology director at Mercedes. In 2021, he succeeded James Allison as technical director at the team. On 21 April 2023, it was announced that Elliott would swap roles with Allison, who would return as Technical Director, while Elliott would become Chief Technical Officer. The team competed under the Lotus name from until , following the renaming of the former Renault in Formula One, Renault team based at Enstone in Oxfordshire.
