Jan Brussaard
Pieter Johannes "Jan" Brussaard (30 January 1875 – 28 December 1940) was a Dutch sport shooter who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics and in the 1920 Summer Olympics. He was born in Delfshaven and died in Rotterdam. He was the father of Jan Hendrik Brussaard. In 1908 he finished seventh with the Dutch team in the team free rifle event. Delfshaven
Delfshaven () is a borough of Rotterdam, Netherlands, on the right bank of river Nieuwe Maas. It was a separate municipality until 1886. The town of Delfshaven grew around the port of the city of Delft. Delft itself was not located on a major river, so in 1389 a harbour was created about due south of the city, to be able to receive seafaring vessels and avoid tolls being levied by the neighbouring and competing city of Rotterdam. This settlement was named "Delfshaven" (). On 1 August 1620 the Pilgrim fathers left Delfshaven with the '' Speedwell''. Since then, the town's Oude Kerk has also been known as the Pelgrimskerk, or in English, the "Pilgrim Fathers Church". The event was won by Morris Fisher of the United States, the nation's first victory in the event.
