James Cooper (coach)
James Cooper (born February 12, 1982) is an American baseball coach and former outfielder. He played college baseball for the Grambling State Tigers from 2001 to 2004 before playing professionally from 2004 to 2006. He then served as head coach of the Grambling State Tigers (2010–2021). Playing career Cooper was an outfielder for Grambling, where he earned All-Conference honors and played under longtime head coach Wilbert Ellis. He was drafted in the 33rd round of the 2004 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros. He played two seasons in the Astros system, reaching Class A, and one season of independent baseball in the CanAm League for the Sussex Skyhawks before ending his playing career. Shreveport ( ) is a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The 2010 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, June 4, 2010, as part of the 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64-team double elimination tournament concluded with the 2010 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. This was the final year at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, the host venue since 1950. The South Carolina Gamecocks won two elimination games against archrival Clemson in the College World Series semifinals, then defeated the UCLA Bruins in the second game of the finals on a walk-off single by Whit Merrifield to win the national championship. The 2012 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament took place at Lee–Hines Field, on the campus of Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA from May 16 through 20, 2012. The won their third tournament championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The double elimination tournament featured the top four teams from each division, leaving one team from each division out of the field. Hudson Valley Renegades
The Hudson Valley Renegades are a Minor League Baseball team based in Fishkill, New York. The High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Renegades play in the South Atlantic League. The Renegades play their home games at Heritage Financial Park. From 1994 to 2020, the team competed in the Class A Short Season New York–Penn League. Rachel Balkovec
Rachel Balkovec (born July 5, 1987) is an American minor league baseball manager who is currently the director of player development for the Miami Marlins. In 2022, the New York Yankees named Balkovec manager of their Single–A minor league team, the Tampa Tarpons, making her the first woman to work as a full-time manager of a major league-affiliated team. Early life Balkovec grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. She has two sisters. Her father worked as a customer service manager for American Airlines, and her mother was a bookkeeper. As a student at Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha, Balkovec played softball, soccer, and basketball.
