Jakob Pelletier
Jakob Pelletier (born March 7, 2001) is a Canadian professional ice hockey Winger (ice hockey), left winger for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Calgary Flames with the 26th overall pick in the 2019 NHL entry draft. Early life Pelletier was born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, to parents Mario and Nancy. Pelletier began skating at the age of three and spent one season playing alongside his older brother Thomas at the novice level despite Thomas being three years older. Playing career Amateur Pelletier participated in the 2011 Brick Hockey Invitational Hockey Tournament with the Montreal Ice Storm and later led the Citadelles de Québec to victory in the 2013 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. He scored three goals and one assist during the championship game and was subsequently named Player of the Game. Canada Men's National Under-18 Ice Hockey Team
The Canadian men's national under 18 ice hockey team is part of a three-stage Program of Excellence beginning with the Under-17 regional teams and ending with the National Junior Team. The primary objectives of the Under-18 program are to identify, evaluate, and condition players to the rigors of international competition by giving first exposure to off-shore officiating, ice-surfaces, and travel. The Under-18 squad traditionally competes in the month of August, during the off season, to allow players to further develop skills with their respective junior teams in the winter following a week-long camp. The are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Val-d'Or, in the region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. They play in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, one of the three component leagues of the Canadian Hockey League. 2019–20 QMJHL Season
The 2019–20 QMJHL season was the 51st season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season began on September 19, 2019, and was scheduled to end on March 21, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, the regular season was suspended on March 12, 2020 and cancelled five days later. The post-season was scheduled to begin following the regular season, in which sixteen teams would compete for the President's Cup and be crowned champions of the QMJHL. NHL Central Scouting Bureau
The NHL Central Scouting Services (CSS) is a department within the National Hockey League (NHL) that ranks prospects for the NHL entry draft at specific times during the hockey season. Players are ranked based on how well they will translate to the professional game in the NHL. It was founded by hockey executive Jack Button in 1975, to establish a centralized database of NHL prospects. Button served as the director until 1979. Its current director is Dan Marr. The Department consists of staff at the NHL Offices in Toronto, along with eight full-time scouts, and fifteen part-time scouts throughout North America. 2019 IIHF World U18 Championships
The 2019 IIHF U18 World Championship was the 21st such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at several levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2020 competition. One national team, Luxembourg, returned to play in the World Championships for the first time since playing in the 2000 European qualification tiers. Sweden won the title on home ice. The IIHF U18 World Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national under-18 ice hockey teams from around the world. The tournament is usually played in April and is organized according to a system similar to the Ice Hockey World Championships and the IIHF World Junior Championship.
