JackMaster Fax
Jack Revill, better known as Jackmaster (born 11 January 1986), is a Scottish DJ and Producer from Glasgow. He is a co-founder of the record label and club night Numbers as well as Wireblock, Dress 2 Sweat, Point.One Recordings, Seldom Felt and TDSR. Revill was the subject of controversy in August 2018, after he overdosed on GHB and subsequently attempted to "kiss and grab people against their will" at Love Saves The Day Festival in Bristol. He is renowned for his in-depth and diverse music taste and ability to mix a multitude of different genres. He is one of a few examples of a DJ known primarily as a DJ (rather than a producer), alongside Hessle Audio’s Ben UFO and Rinse FM's Oneman. Dance Mania (record Label)
Dance Mania is a Chicago independent record label originally founded by Jesse Saunders for a one-off release of "What's That" by The Browns in 1985. The label name was picked by Ray Barney one year later, with permission from Duane Buford who wrote the record. The label released almost three hundred records until it closed in 1999. The label relaunched in 2013, following a recent DJ demand for their 90s records. Joy Orbison
Peter O'Grady, better known as Joy Orbison or Joy O, is an English electronic musician. His style is a coalescence of house, dubstep, UK funky, UK garage and oldschool jungle. O'Grady achieved underground success with his debut single "Hyph Mngo", released via Hotflush Recordings in September 2009. He is also known for his collaborations with Boddika. Biography O'Grady credits his uncle Ray Keith for introducing him to jungle and UK garage at a young age. At 13, he took up DJing and eventually moved into production in his 20s, using Fruity Loops to create 8-bar grime loops before developing his sound combining house, disco and dubstep. He cites influences as diverse as J Dilla, My Bloody Valentine, GG Allin, Josef K and The Beach Boys. T In The Park
T in the Park festival was a major Scottish music festival that was held annually from 1994 to 2016. It was named after its main sponsor, Tennents. The event was held at Strathclyde Park, Lanarkshire, until 1996. It then moved to the disused Balado airfield, Perth and Kinross, from 1997 to 2014. In 2015 the festival moved to Strathallan Castle. It was originally held over two days, and extended to three days from 2007. In 2016 the daily capacity was 70,000. The 2017 T in the Park was cancelled due to problems at the 2016 event. It was officially replaced with the TRNSMT festival which takes place on the same weekend at Glasgow Green. The 2017 festival was a success and further editions of TRNSMT followed in 2018 and 2019. Bestival
Bestival was a four-day music festival held in the south of England. It had been held annually in the late summer since 2004 at Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight. In 2017 the festival relocated to the Lulworth Estate in Dorset. The event was organised by DJ and record producer Rob da Bank along with his wife Josie and was an offshoot of his Sunday Best record label and club nights. The initial Bestival attracted 10,000 people, growing to 50,000 in its final year, 2018. Sub Club
The Sub Club is a club and music venue located at 22 Jamaica Street in Glasgow, Scotland. It opened 1 April 1987 and is the longest running underground dance club in the world. The basement space can legally hold up to 410 people. In 2008 it was voted the 10th best club in the world by Resident Advisor(and 5th for atmosphere) and the 30th best club in the world by DJ Mag.
