J-Horror Theater ( Jホラーシアター, ''J horā shiatā)'' (2004–2010) is an anthology of 6 Japanese horror films produced by Takashige Ichise ( 一瀬 隆重, ''ichise takashige''). Spurred by the overwhelming success of '' Ringu リング'' (1998), six filmmakers – Masayuki Ochiai 落合正幸, Norio Tsuruta 鶴田 法男, Takashi Shimizu 清水 崇, Kiyoshi Kurosawa 黒沢 清, Hideo Nakata 中田 秀夫, Hiroshi Takahashi 高橋 洋 – were requested to create a horror film to be released under Ichise's J-Horror Theater anthology. Tokyo International Film Festival
The is a film festival established in 1985. The event was held biennially from 1985 to 1991 and annually thereafter. According to the FIAPF, it is one of Asia's competitive film festivals and the second largest film festival in Asia behind the Shanghai International Film Festival, as well as the only Japanese festival accredited by the FIAPF. The awards handed out during the festival have changed throughout its existence, but the Tokyo Grand Prix, handed to the best film, has stayed as the top award. Other awards that have been given regularly include the Special Jury Award and awards for best actor, best actress and best director. In recent years, the festival's main events have been held over one week in late October, at the Roppongi Hills development. , also known as ''The Sylvian Experiments'', is a 2010 Japanese horror film directed by Hiroshi Takahashi who is known as a screenwriter of ''Ring''. It was released on 10 July 2010. Plot Two married neurosurgeons, Etsuko and Yukio Ōta, watch a 16mm documentary film concerning a secret experiment involving the electrification of the temporal lobes of several Japanese, Manchu, and Russian subjects, ending with said subjects projecting a blinding white light. Their children, Miyuki and Kaori, watch the film as well. Years later, Miyuki and three others conduct a mock mass suicide as part of their initiation into a similar experiment conducted by Etsuko. Kaidan (2007 Film)
is a 2007 Japanese horror film directed by Hideo Nakata. It centers on two young lovers who are haunted by the ghost of a murdered moneylender who seeks revenge, which leaves a lasting effect on the couple. 63rd Venice International Film Festival
The 63rd annual Venice International Film Festival, was held from 30 August to 9 September 2006, at Venice Lido in Italy. French actress Catherine Deneuve was the jury president for the main competition. Italian actress Isabella Ferrari was the host of both ceremonies. The Golden Lion was awarded to ''Still Life'' by Jia Zhangke. American filmmaker David Lynch was the recipient of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. is a 2006 Japanese horror-mystery film written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, starring Kōji Yakusho, of a detective's investigation of serial murders that leads him to a mysterious woman in red who slowly draws him into the darkness. After Dark Horrorfest
After Dark Horrorfest (also known as "8 Films to Die For") was an annual horror film festival featuring eight independent horror movies, sometimes with "secret" bonus films, all distributed by After Dark Films in the USA. The first HorrorFest was held in 2006. In 2011, Horrorfest was replaced with After Dark Originals, composed of original films from After Dark and not previously acquired ones.
