Ivan Rassimov
Ivan Rassimov (Born Ivan Đerasimović; Serbian Cyrillic: Иван Ђерасимовић) (7 May 1938 – 14 March 2003) was an Italian film actor of Serb descent who appeared in many horror and exploitation films. Biography Born in Trieste to Serbian parents, Velimir and Vera Đerasimović (née Petrijević), he attended the Slovenian scientific lyceum (Gimnazija s slovenskim učnim jezikom) in Trieste. He made his film debut in 1964 after graduating from university and Actors' Studio in Rome. Mostly cast in villainous roles, he appeared in Mario Bava's ''Planet of the Vampires'' (1965), Sergio Martino's ''Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key'' (1972), Umberto Lenzi's '' Man from Deep River'' (1972) and ''Eaten Alive!'' ''Il paese del sesso selvaggio'' (English: ''The Country of Savage Sex''), also known as ''Man From Deep River'', ''Deep River Savages'' and ''Sacrifice!'', is a 1972 Italian cannibal exploitation film directed by Umberto Lenzi and starring Ivan Rassimov, Me Me Lai and Pratitsak Singhara. It is perhaps best known for starting the " cannibal boom" of Italian exploitation cinema during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Damiano Damiani (23 July 1922 – 7 March 2013) was an Italian screenwriter, film director, actor and writer. Poet and director Pier Paolo Pasolini referred to him as "a bitter moralist hungry for old purity", while film critic Paolo Mereghetti said that his style made him "the most American of Italian directors".
