Ivan Maric
Ivan Maric ( hr, Ivan Marić, ; born 4 January 1986) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club and the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was Richmond's vice-captain in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 he began working as a ruck coach at Richmond. Junior and state league football A late starter to the game, Maric didn't play competitive football until he was 16 because of a blossoming basketball career. Maric nearly quit in his second season with the Calder Cannons because of his frustration with the technical aspects of the game. However Maric was talked into playing on and was drafted by the Crows with pick 40 in the 2004 AFL Draft only months later. Ruckman (Australian Rules Football Position)
In Australian rules football, a ruckman or ruckwoman is typically a tall and athletic player who contests at centre bounces and stoppages (such as boundary throw-ins and ball-ups). The ruckman is one of the most important players on the field. They are often key to coaching strategy and winning centre clearances which result in the most goal kicking opportunities (inside 50s). The role of the ruckman in Australian rules is similar to a lock in rugby union contesting a line-out. The key differences are that with the exception of boundary throw-ins, the ball is almost always thrown straight up high into the air rather than horizontally, so in this respect, the ruckman is similar to a basketball centre. Shaun Hampson
Shaun Hampson (born 21 March 1988) is a former Australian rules footballer who played 98 games across a 12-year career with the and Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Junior football Hampson excelled at sport at school, including athletics, swimming and soccer. He did not begin playing Australian football until 2004. He then joined Mount Gravatt Football Club in 2005, and by the end of the year he was the club's number one ruckman. AFL career Hampson was drafted in the priority round of the 2006 AFL Draft by the Carlton Football Club (17th pick overall). He made his debut with Carlton in Round 21, 2007 against North Melbourne. Brett Deledio
Brett Edward Deledio (born 18 April 1987) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played 243 games over 12 seasons with the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), and a further 32 matches over three seasons with the Greater Western Sydney Giants. He was a two-time All-Australian, two-time Richmond best and fairest winner and recipient of the league's Rising Star award in his debut year in 2005.
