Art Fleming
Arthur Fleming Fazzin (May 1, 1924 – April 25, 1995) was an American actor and television host. He hosted the first version of the television game show ''Jeopardy!'', which aired on NBC from 1964 until 1975 and again from 1978 to 1979. Early life Fleming was born in New York City. His parents, William and Marie Fazzin, had immigrated to the United States from Austria. They were a popular dance team in Europe and brought their show to America. Their son Art was a varsity letterman football player at James Monroe High School in New York City, standing , weighing . He later attended Colgate and Cornell Universities, starring on the football team, as well as water polo teams at both colleges. Fleming was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy for three and a half years as the pilot of a patrol bomber in the Atlantic. David Anthony Jacobs, Baron Jacobs, known as Anthony Jacobs (13 November 1931 – 21 June 2014) was a British businessman and an Independent politician. He left the Liberal Democrats in 2011. The son of Ridley and Ella Jacobs, he was educated at Clifton College, Bristol and the University of London. Jacobs was Chairman of document reproduction equipment firm Nig Securities Group from 1957 to 1972, of fashion firm Tricoville Group from 1961 to 1990 and 1992 to 1994, and of British School of Motoring from 1973 to 1990. From 1972, he was member of the Liberal Party, contesting Watford in both general elections in 1974. In 1984, Jacobs became his Party's Joint Treasurer, a post he stepped down from three years later. Jacobs was knighted in 1988 and on 18 October 1997, he was created a life peer as Baron Jacobs, of Belgravia in the City of Westminster. Because of his strapping build, commanding height () and regimental demeanour he would often be found playing military types and men of action in such classic 1960s films as '' Jason and the Argonauts'', '' Zulu'', ''Tobruk'' and '' The Ipcress File''.
