''In This Light and on This Evening'' is the third studio album by English rock band Editors. It was released on 12 October 2009 by Kitchenware Records. The band had said the material would have a more raw and anthemic sound compared to their previous work. The first single from the album was " Papillon". The second single was " You Don't Know Love", released on 25 January of the following year. The third single, " Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool", was released on 24 May. The album also features a bonus extended play of five songs, called ''Cuttings II''. With lead guitarist Chris Urbanowicz's departure from Editors on 16 April 2012, this was the band's last album to feature Urbanowicz. Editors (band)
Editors are an English rock band, formed in 2002 in Birmingham. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesiser, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals), and Benjamin John Power (composer and producer). Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and six in total, with several million combined sales. Their debut album '' The Back Room'' was released in 2005. It contained the hits "Munich" and "Blood" and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination. Thomas Michael Henry Smith (born 29 April 1981) is an English musician, best known as the lead singer, songwriter, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist of the indie rock band Editors. Early life Thomas Michael Henry Smith was born in Northampton on 29 April 1981, the son of high school science teachers Sylvia and John Smith. He grew up in Stroud, Gloucestershire, where he attended Woodchester Endowed Primary School and learned to play the guitar under the guidance of the school's headmaster. He then attended Archway School in Stroud, where his parents taught physics and chemistry. He later studied music technology at Staffordshire University and met his future Editors bandmates. Russell Leetch
Russell Jonathan Leetch (born 5 March 1982) is the bass guitarist for Birmingham-based indie rock band Editors. He studied music technology at Staffordshire University where he met his fellow Editors band members. He went to secondary school at Arden School, Knowle. He used to work with bandmate Tom Smith in a call centre before the band got a record deal. His favourite bands are Radiohead and Spiritualized. In February 2008, Leetch remixed The Hives single " T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S.", where it featured as a b-side on the single. He also directed the video to Editors single "Bones" which was released in Europe. He ran the 2008 New York City Marathon for charity. In April 2011 Leetch ran the London Marathon along with lead singer Tom Smith. They raised over £10,000 for Oxfam. He supports Aston Villa F.C.
