''In a Quiet Room'' is the eleventh album released by country music artist Dan Seals and his only album on the Intersound label. This album consists mostly of acoustic versions of songs featured on earlier albums, as well as two songs — " I'd Really Love to See You Tonight" and " Love Is the Answer" — that he originally recorded as one-half of the soft rock duo England Dan & John Ford Coley. "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight" and "The Healin' Kind" were both released as singles. Critical reception Thom Owens of AllMusic gave the album two stars out of five, saying, "It's a pleasant album, yet it doesn't offer any new revelations or great performances." ''New Country'' magazine reviewer Rob Patterson gave the album two-and-a-half stars out of five, saying that the re-recordings were largely identical to the original versions, and that Seals occasionally sounded like a soft rock artist. Dan Seals
Danny Wayland Seals (February 8, 1948 – March 25, 2009) was an American musician. The younger brother of Seals and Crofts member Jim Seals, he first gained fame as one half of the soft rock duo England Dan & John Ford Coley, who charted nine singles between 1976 and 1980, including the No. 2 ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit " I'd Really Love to See You Tonight". After the duo disbanded, Seals began a solo career, starting in soft rock before shifting to country music. Throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s, he released 16 studio albums and charted more than 20 singles on the country charts. Bob McDill
Robert Lee McDill (born April 4, 1944) is a retired American songwriter, active from the 1960s until 2000. During his career he wrote or co-wrote 31 number one country hits. His songs were also recorded by popular artists of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, including The Grateful Dead, Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Anne Murray and B. J. Thomas. His movie credits include ''Primary Colors'', ''The Thing Called Love'', ''Texasville'' and the documentary ''Grizzly Man''. In addition to four Grammy nominations, McDill received Songwriter of the Year awards from Broadcast Music Incorporated, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23, 1971) is an American bluegrass- country singer and musician. She entered the music industry at an early age, competing in local contests by the age of 8 and recording for the first time at 14. Paul Lavon Davis (April 21, 1948 – April 22, 2008) was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his radio hits and solo career which started worldwide in 1970. His career encompassed soul, country, and pop. Jennifer Kimball is a singer and songwriter who formed the folk duo The Story with Jonatha Brooke.
