"I Can Only Disappoint U" is a song by the English alternative rock band Mansun. The song was written by band-leader Paul Draper with lead guitarist Dominic Chad. It was recorded and produced by Hugh Padgham and co-producer Michael Hunter during sessions for the group's third studio album. The song was released as the first single in 2000 from the group's third album, '' Little Kix''. The song went on to become their fourth and final top ten hit in the UK peaking at #8. A Progressive house/trance remix by Paul Oakenfold preceded the release of the single during the summer of 2000. In 2004, Mansun released a demo recording of the song on the compilation album '' Kleptomania''. The demo was recorded by Paul Draper alone with guitar overdubs by Dominic Chad. In 2013, Dev Hynes recording under his Blood Orange name recorded a cover of the song. The song was retitled "Always Let U Down" and released on his second studio album '' Cupid Deluxe''. Mansun
Mansun were an English alternative rock band, formed in Chester in 1995. The band comprised vocalist/rhythm guitarist Paul Draper, bassist Stove King, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Dominic Chad, and drummer Andie Rathbone. It was announced in May 2003 that the band had split up earlier that year, whilst in the process of recording their fourth album, and some of their archival recording of the album later released on their final album, ''Kleptomania'' (2004). Andie Rathbone
Andrew "Andie" Rathbone (born 8 September 1969 in Chester) is an English drummer and former member of the rock band Mansun. Rathbone grew up in Blacon, Chester and played in various local bands including "The Wandering Quatrains" and "Jonti" and " The DNA Cowboys".Having studied at Tech Music School in Fulham, London, he attracted the interest of Mansun with his playing and flamboyant look. Rathbone initially turned the band down due to commitments with "The DNA Cowboys " and because he thought they played "Britpop shite". Also working as an Audi Car salesman at the time, he later had a change of heart after the band's bass player Stove King played him a demo of their new song "Wide Open Space". ''Cupid Deluxe'' is the second album by Dev Hynes as Blood Orange, and is the follow-up to 2011's '' Coastal Grooves''. The album was released on 18 November 2013 in the UK, and was available worldwide a week earlier on iTunes on 12 November 2013. Between albums, Hynes has written and produced music for the likes of Solange, Sky Ferreira, MKS, and more. ''Cupid Deluxe'' shows a more expansive aural palate than the previous release ''Coastal Grooves'', while still retaining the pop sensibilities that Hynes has showcased since his days in Test Icicles and Lightspeed Champion.
