The IIT Bombay Industrial Design Centre School of Design (IITB IDC School of Design) is a design school part of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, a public research university in Powai, Mumbai. It offers four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and two-year Master of Design (M.Des.) programmes, a five-year integrated Bachelor's plus Master's in design programme, and doctoral programmes (PhD) in design across various disciplines such as industrial design, communication design, animation and automobile design. Satyendra Pakhalé (also known as Satyen Pakhalé; born 1967) is a designer, industrial designer, and architect. He realizes projects from industrial design, applied research to design vision of the future, technologically challenging product development, manufacturing, highly crafted pieces, exhibitions, and architecture. He works in the fields of product design, including consumer electronics, health care, aviation, mobility, home appliances, furniture, digital products & computers, and interior design and architecture. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay or IITB) is a public research university and technical institute in Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The Indian rupee sign (₹) is the currency symbol for the Indian rupee (ISO 4217: INR), the official currency of India. Designed by D. Udaya Kumar, it was presented to the public by the Government of India on 15 July 2010, following its selection through an open competition among Indian residents. Udaya Kumar (designer)
Udaya Kumar Dharmalingam is an Indian academic and designer noted for his design of the Indian rupee sign. His design was selected from among five short listed symbols. According to Kumar, the design is based on the Indian tricolour. , he is the Head of the Department of Design at IIT Guwahati, Assam. Personal life Kumar is the son of N. Dharmalingam, a former DMK member of the legislative assembly of the state of Tamil Nadu. Academics Kumar attended La Chatelaine Junior College in Chennai. Pranav Mistry
Pranav Mistry (born 14 May 1981) is a computer scientist and inventor. He was the President and CEO of STAR Labs (Samsung Technology & Advanced Research Labs). He is best known for his work on SixthSense, Samsung Galaxy Gear and Project Beyond. Career Mistry joined Samsung as the Director of Research in 2012, and currently serves as the Global Vice President of it. He introduced Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch in September 2013. Nina Sabnani
Nina Sabnani (born 1956) is an Indian animation filmmaker, illustrator and an educator. She is known for her films which blend together animation and ethnography. Collaboration with diverse ethnic communities as well as storytelling with words and imagery have been her research interests. Sabnani has taught for more than two decades at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. She is currently a professor at the Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Bombay. Academic background Sabnani graduated in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, Vadodara and completed a certificate program in animation film making at the NID, Ahmedabad.
