Izzi People
Izzi is a North Eastern Igbo people, Igbo sub-group, in Igboland, South Eastern, Nigeria. It is also the name of the territory in which they live - Izzi (Ebonyi), Izzi Local Government Area. They speak the Izi language, Izzi dialect. Izzi is spoken majorly in Ebonyi State and some parts of Benue State. Some notable persons from Izzi include the current Governor, Francis Nwifuru, Rt. Hon. Izi (Izii, Izzi) is an Igboid language spoken in Ebonyi state in Nigeria.Paul Meier, Inge Meier & John Bendor-Samuel, ''A Grammar of Izi: An Igbo Language'', Summer Institute of Linguistics (1975) It forms a dialect cluster with the closely related languages Ikwo, Ezza, and Mgbo. Belonging to a larger group of people called the Igbo, the Izi distinguish themselves from their neighbors and have divided themselves into many clans. Izi speakers are found east of Abakaliki, the capital of the Ebonyi State and extend as far as the Anambra and Imo State boundaries. Franki Carissa Strefling (born July 13, 1999) is an American professional wrestler and former professional volleyball player. She is signed to WWE, where she performs on the NXT brand under the ring name Izzi Dame and is a member of The Culling stable. Izzi is a local government area of Ebonyi State in Nigeria. Izzi, as in the case of Abakaliki the capital city, is a center of agricultural trade including such products as yams, cassava, rice, and both palm oil Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the mesocarp (reddish pulp) of the fruit of oil palms. Eugene Izzi (March 23, 1953 – December 7, 1996) was an American crime writer. Izzi, a lifelong resident of Chicago, set most of his work in that city. He wrote in the classic hard-boiled style made famous by Mickey Spillane and Dashiell Hammett. Despite moderate popularity, he is best known for the unusual circumstances surrounding his death.
