The Marine Command ( fa, فرماندهی تفنگداران دریایی) is the naval infantry element of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN). Personnel During the Iran–Iraq War, Iranian marines were divided in three battalions (approximately 1,500 troops): one stationed at Khorramshahr and the other two at Bandar Abbas, one of which detached to Kharg Island. According to the 2020 edition of the Military Balance published by IISS, the size of the marines is about 2,600. Marines
Marines, or naval infantry, are typically a military force trained to operate in littoral zones in support of naval operations. Historically, tasks undertaken by marines have included helping maintain discipline and order aboard the ship (reflecting the pressed nature of the ship's company and the risk of mutiny), the boarding of vessels during combat or capture of prize ships, and providing manpower for raiding ashore in support of the naval objectives. In most countries, the marines are an integral part of that state's navy. The exact term "marine" does not exist in many languages other than English. Jask
Jask ( fa, جاسک, Balochi: جاشک also Romanized as Jāsk; also Bandar-e Jask ( fa, بَندَرِ جاسک), (Balochi: بندن ءِ جاشک) also Romanized as Bandar-e Jāsk) is a city and capital of Jask County, Hormozgan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 11,133, in 2,406 families. Jask is a port town, about south of Tehran, situated on the Gulf of Oman. It serves as the capital of Jask County, and is the site of a base of the Iranian Navy which opened on October 28, 2008. The base's position provides the Iranian Navy with the capability to close the Strait of Hormuz in order to block the entry of an "enemy" into the Persian Gulf. Sepah Navy Special Force
Special Unit of Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, NEDSA ( fa, یگان ویژه ندسا), also known as Sepah Navy Special Force (S.N.S.F.) ( fa, نیروی ویژه دریایی سپاه), is a Takavar unit in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy stationed in the Greater Farur Island of Persian Gulf. Bandar-e Anzali ( fa, بندرانزلی, also Romanized as Bandar-e Anzalī; renamed as Bandar-e Pahlavi during the Pahlavi dynasty) is a city of Gilan Province, Iran. Konarak, Iran
Konarak ( fa, کنارک, also Romanized as Konārak and Kenārak; also known as Kūmārak and Kunārak) is a city in and the capital of Konarak County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 28,685, in 6,044 families. It is situated in the western coast of Chabahar Bay, facing Chabahar Port to the East, on the Makran coast on the Gulf of Oman, about 50 km West of the Iran-Pakistan coastal border line. Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. According to Islamic doctrine, he was a prophet divinely inspired to preach and confirm the monotheistic teachings of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets.
