Ironi Nahariya Basketball Club () known for sponsorship reasons as Ironi Rain Nahariya () is a professional basketball club based in city of Nahariya in northern Israel. The team plays in the Liga Leumit (basketball), Liga Leumit (the second tier of Israeli basketball) and internationally in the Balkan International Basketball League. The team currently plays in the Ein Sara Sport Hall, which is home to 2,500 spectators. History 1970s-1990s Ironi Nahariya was founded originally as Hapoel Nahariya in 1970. The club originally supported orange and blue as its main colors. From 1970–1992, the club played in the lower leagues of Israeli Basketball. Liga Leumit (basketball)
Liga Leumit (, lit. ''National League'') is the second tier level league of basketball competition in Israel. It is the league level that is below the first tier Israeli Premier League. League system On 30 July, 2024 the Israel Basketball Association announces new game system. The regular season be played in a home-and-away Round-robin tournament, round-robin format. The top 6 finishers will advance to the Top-teams League Group, and the rest of the teams will advance to the Bottom-Teams League Group. The winner of the Top-teams League Group will be promoted to the Israeli Basketball Premier League, Premier League, while the 2nd to 9th ranked teams will advance to the playoff to determine the second team that will be promoted. The 2009–2010 Israeli Basketball Super League (Also known as Ligat Winner) was the 56th season of the top basketball league in Israel. The season began on 24 October 2009. The final four event was played on 25–27 May 2010. Gilboa/Galil won its second Israeli championship. Format Each out of the 12 participating teams played 22 regular league games, one home game and one away game against each other team. The top eight teams qualified to the playoff, where they play best-of-5 series decided by the rankings at the end of the regular season (first against eighth, second against seventh and so on). The Israeli Basketball Super League (BSL) 2008-2009 season was the 55th season of the top basketball league in Israel. The season began on 26 October 2008 and ended on 21 May 2009. Maccabi Tel Aviv won its 48th league title, defeating Maccabi Haifa Heat 85–72 in the final. The defending champion was Hapoel Holon.
