Iris Versari
Iris Versari (12 December 1922 – 18 August 1944) was an Italian partisan from Emilia-Romagna who was decorated with a Gold Medal of Military Valour on 16 April 1976. Biography Early life Daughter of Angelo Versari, Iris lived with her family in Tredozio, a small town near Forlì. From a young age, Iris showed her strong spirit by escaping the unwanted attention she received from the male members of the wealthy families of Forlì where she worked as a handmaid. This humiliation shaped her strong personality. Shortly after Iris got back home in Tredozio, in Autumn 1943, her family decided to hide in their house a partisan brigade. The family house was set on fire by the Nazis on 27 January 1944. Versari managed to escape, but her family (her father, mother and two of her three brothers) were arrested. Severino Galante
Saverino or Severino Galante (ca. 1750–1827) was an Italian painter, active in Abruzzo and Naples. In his hometown, hev painted the walls of the "Palazzo Pignatelli" He was born in Civitella Casanova, Abruzzo, Kingdom of Naples. Maria Christina "Tina" Aumont (February 14, 1946 – October 28, 2006) was a French and American actress. She was the daughter of French actor Jean-Pierre Aumont and Dominican actress Maria Montez. She made her acting debut in the British film ''Modesty Blaise'' (1966), but later had a prominent career as a leading lady in Italian films. Career Aumont was billed as Tina Marquand (her married name, after she married French actor Christian Marquand, aged 17, in 1963) in four films, including Joseph Losey's ''Modesty Blaise'' (1966). Valentino Orsini (19 January 1927 in Pisa – 26 January 2001 in Cerveteri) was an Italian film director. After his first interests to arts (he had been sculptor, stage designer, cinema critic, cineclub animator) in his hometown, in 1954 Valentino Orsini directed with the brothers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani (born in the near small city of San Miniato) the documentary ''San Miniato: luglio'' 1944. After other documentaries, most with Taviani brothers, he realized his first fiction films in 1962 and in 1963, both with the two brothers. After other documentaries Orsini directed his first fiction film alone, ''I dannati della terra'' in 1969. Despite his few fiction films (but he realized a lot of documentaries all around the world) Orsini is highly considered for his role in renewing Italian cinema in 1960s and 1970s, facing subjects such as the peasants' fights in Sicily, the divorce, the underdeveloped countries.
