Iranian Rock
Iranian rock (also known as Rocka red) refers to rock music produced by Iranian artists. Rock music has been popular in Iran since 1960s, with the emergence of singers such as Kourosh Yaghmaei, Farhad Mehrad, Fereydoon Foroughi and Habib Mohebian, but was largely forgotten after the Iranian Revolution. Like most rock styles, electric guitar and bass guitar and drums are the main instruments in this type of music. In some groups, keyboard and piano are very important. Iranian rock music is influenced by English rock, American rock and European styles. Because of the Iranian performers of this music, various types of Iranian rhythms and tones in this genre are separated from other rock genres. Iranian rock was banned after the Islamic revolution of 1979, and apart from a small number of artists, this style of music still has many problems in Iran. Fereydoon Forooghi
Fereydoon Foroughi (; 29 January 1951 – 5 October 2001) was an Iranian singer, musician and composer. He contributed greatly to Iranian music and arts and his unique voice and style soon caught on with the people. In addition to his studies in acting, playing the guitar, piano and organ he also composed music. His style was inspired by jazz and blues. Early life and education Fereydoon was born on Monday, January 29, 1951 in the Salsabil neighborhood of Tehran. His father, Fathullah, was a tobacco worker and wrote poetry and strings on his own. His paternal family was one of the great landowners of Naraq. At first, Farhad's name was chosen by his father, but at the request of his grandfather, his name was changed to Fereydoon. Gol-e Yakh
''Gol-e Yakh'' (Persian: گل یخ; ''Ice Flower'', also Wintersweet) is the debut solo studio album by Iranian singer-songwriter and guitarist Kourosh Yaghmaei. The album was released in 1973 in Iran and was produced by Yaghmaei. The song "Gol-e Yakh," a melancholic ballad about love that endures through the bitterest winters was Yaghmaei's debut single and a huge success more than five million copies sold in the domestic market. Since it was released, there have been many performances within and outside of Iran. It brought fame to Yaghmaei and was translated into and adapted for other languages. Backed with the single "Del Dareh Pir Misheh," an Iranian-style garage rock song. Ebrahim Nabavi
Seyyed Ebrahim Nabavi (; 13 November 1958 – 15 January 2025) was an Iranian satirist, writer, diarist and researcher. He contributed to the news website ''Gooya'' and the online newspaper ''Rooz'', and had a satirical program for the website and broadcasts on the Amsterdam based Radio Zamaneh. Ray Charles
Ray Charles Robinson (September 23, 1930 – June 10, 2004) was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. He is regarded as one of the most iconic and influential musicians in history, and was often referred to by contemporaries as "The Genius". Vida Ghahremani (; 12 June 1936 – 1 June 2018) was an Iranian Americans, Iranian-born American film and stage actress, writer, and educator. Abadan
Abadan (; ) is a city in the Central District (Abadan County), Central District of Abadan County, Khuzestan province, Khuzestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. Scorpions (band)
Scorpions are a German hard rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. The longest-running and most successful line-up of the band included Schenker, Klaus Meine (vocals), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Francis Buchholz (bass), and Herman Rarebell (drums), and lasted from 1978 to 1992.
