Iosif Șilimon
Iosif Șilimon (22 July 1918 – 8 February 1981) was a Romanian aircraft designer. Education and early career He was born in 1918 in Cehu Silvaniei, at the time in Szilágy County, Austria-Hungary, now in Sălaj County, Romania. Șilimon graduated from the Bucharest Aircraft Faculty (the aviation section of the Faculty of the Politehnica University of Bucharest) in 1941. In 1944, at Sânpetru, Șilimon obtained the "C" license, instructed by Gheorghe Brănescu and Nicolae Blebea. In 1947, at Ghimbav, he obtained his "g. II tourism" pilot license, trained by Petre Ticușan. In 1956, at Sânpetru, Șilimon obtained the "Silver C". From 1962 to 1964 he took the "Golden C" tests. In 1962 he obtained his "Master of Gliding" degree. Between 1956 and 1963 Șilimon participated in eight national selection and national championships, having honorable results. Cehu Silvaniei
Cehu Silvaniei () is a town in Sălaj County, Crișana, Romania. Four villages are administered by the town: Horoatu Cehului (''Oláhhorvát''), Motiș (''Mutos''), Nadiș (''Szilágynádasd''), and Ulciug (''Völcsök''). History of the town The first written mention of the town dates from 1319 under the name ''Cheevar''. In 1405, the city was mentioned under the name ''Chehy''. The Hungarian name of the city referred to a stand of Czech origin. The town was until 1918 part of the Kingdom of Hungary and specifically of the Principality of Transylvania. In 1529, the voviode István Báthory granted the city the right to govern itself. After the dissolution of the principality of Transylvania in 1867 and its direct integration into the Austro-Hungarian Empire as part of Hungary (''see the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867''), the city is attached to Szilágy County in 1876.
