The Institute for Global Ethics (abbreviated IGE) is a 501(c)(3) nonsectarian, nonpartisan, global research and educational non-profit organization based in Middleton, Wisconsin. History With initial funding provided by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Institute for Global Ethics was founded by Rushworth Kidder in Camden, Maine in 1990. The Institute is dedicated to exploring the idea of shared moral values as well as committed to helping organizations and individuals put those values into practice, finding frameworks that tackle tough issues. Middleton is a city in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 21,827 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Rushworth Moulton Kidder (May 8, 1944 – March 5, 2012) was an American author, ethicist, and professor. Kidder founded the Institute for Global Ethics in 1990, and is the author of ''Moral Courage'' and ''How Good People Make Tough Choices: Resolving the Dilemmas of Ethical Living''. He was born in Amherst, Massachusetts. He worked as a columnist and editor for ''The Christian Science Monitor''. Kidder died in 2012 of natural causes in Naples, Florida at the age of 67.
