Indigo Nights
''Indigo Nights'' is a live album by Prince, mainly comprising songs played live during some of the aftershows at the indigO2 night club in London in 2007. It contains nine live versions of previously released Prince songs, four cover songs, one new song and a monologue. The CD was only sold coupled with the ''21 Nights'' coffee table book which was released on September 30, 2008. The book reached number 9 on ''The New York Times'' best selling hardcover nonfiction titles. In 2018 the album was released digitally on music platforms Tidal, Spotify, iTunes Store and Apple Music by NPG Records. An album is a collection of audio recordings (e.g., music) issued on a medium such as compact disc (CD), vinyl (record), audio tape (like 8-track or cassette), or digital. Dorothy Moore
Dorothy Moore (born October 13, 1946) is an American blues, gospel, and R&B singer best known for her 1976 hit song, " Misty Blue". Career Moore's parents were Mary Moore and Melvin Hendrex Senior. Her father performed under the stage name Melvin Henderson as a member of the Five Blind Boys of Mississippi. She was raised by her great grandmother and began singing in the church choir at a young age. She was a member of the Poppies with Petsye McCune and Rosemary Taylor when she was attending Jackson State University. The group recorded for Epic Records' Date subsidiary, reaching number 56 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in 1966 with "Lullaby of Love". Misty Blue
"Misty Blue" is a song written by Bob Montgomery that has been recorded and made commercially successful by several music artists. Although Montgomery wrote the song for a different artist in mind, it was brought first to the attention of Wilma Burgess in 1966. It was recorded by Eddy Arnold the following year, both versions were top five country hits. A decade later, blues artist Dorothy Moore released the highest-charting version of the song and it reached the top ten in several different radio formats. Following Moore's revival of the track, numerous artists re-covered the tune, including country artist Billie Jo Spears. Spears's version would also go on to become a successful single release. "Whole Lotta Love" is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. "Delirious" is a song by American musician Prince, from his fifth studio album, ''1999'' (1982). It was the album's third single, and Prince's second Top 10 hit, reaching No. 8 in the US during the fall of 1983. The success of the single was boosted by the runaway success of the previous single, "Little Red Corvette", and also because DJs often played the first three album tracks in sequence, which just happened to be the order of the singles released from the album. Background "Delirious" is a standard 8-bar blues number that tells how Prince is being driven crazy by a beautiful woman. The song teases the listener with sexual metaphors for cars and racing, hidden enough to avoid being censored. The Song Of The Heart (song)
"The Song of the Heart" is a song written and performed by Prince for the 2006 film '' Happy Feet''. The song came about when Prince was approached to allow his song "Kiss" to appear in the film. Prince was initially hesitant to sign off on its use, but agreed to watch the film before he made a final decision. Executives from Warner Bros. screened ''Happy Feet'' for Prince at his Paisley Park recording complex, and he enjoyed the film so much that he agreed to the use of "Kiss" and offered to write a new song for the film. Warner Bros. executive Darren Higman said that Prince completed "The Song of the Heart" approximately one week after he was screened the film.
