Indian Cove
Indian Cove is a local service district and designated place in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is just off Route 340 on New World Island. It is the last community before crossing the causeway to Twillingate. Before the construction of the causeway, there was a ferry that ran from Indian Cove to Twillingate. Education is provided by New World Island Academy in Summerford and grocery shopping can be done in nearby Twillingate. Geography Indian Cove is in Newfoundland within Subdivision H of Division No. 8. The Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador has 175 unincorporated communities that are designated as Local service district (Newfoundland and Labrador), local service districts (LSDs) for the purpose of providing water, sewer, fire, garbage, street lighting, animal control, and/or road maintenance services to ratepayers within a defined area. Canada 2016 Census
The 2016 Canadian census was an enumeration of Canadian residents, which counted a population of 35,151,728, a change from its 2011 population of 33,476,688. The census, conducted by Statistics Canada, was Canada's seventh quinquennial census. The official census day was May 10, 2016. Census web access codes began arriving in the mail on May 2, 2016. The 2016 census marked the reinstatement of the mandatory long-form census, which had been dropped in favour of the voluntary National Household Survey for the 2011 census. A designated place (DPL) is a type of community or settlement identified by Statistics Canada that does not meet the criteria used to define municipalities or population centres. DPLs are delineated every 5 years for the Canadian census as the statistical counterparts of incorporated places such as cities, towns, and villages. Though lacking separate municipal government, DPLs otherwise physically resemble incorporated places. They are created by provincial or territorial governments for the purpose of providing data for settled concentrated populations that are identifiable by name but are not legally incorporated under the laws of the province/territory in which they are located. Twillingate, Newfoundland And Labrador
Twillingate is a town of 2,121 people located on the Twillingate Islands ("Toulinquet") in Notre Dame Bay, off the north eastern shore of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The town is about north of Lewisporte and Gander. Incorporated on September 30, 1965, the town of Twillingate also incorporates smaller former localities such as Back Harbour, Bayview, Durrell, Gillard's Cove, Jenkins Cove, Manuel's Cove, and Wild Cove. Summerford is a small town on the central coast of Newfoundland in Canada. It is located just off Route 340, along Route 344. The ''Town of Summerford'' (formerly the ''Farmer’s Arm'' circa 1906) lies mostly on New World Island in Notre Dame Bay just off the coast of the island of Newfoundland.
