Ilihue
Ilihue is a village located in the commune of Lago Ranco in Los Ríos Region, southern Chile. According to the 2013 census, it had a population of approximately 650 inhabitants. It is an area known for being a highly touristic place because it is located in front of Lago Ranco, being a popular place to host hotels, cabins and restaurants. Currently, it is divided into two sectors, which are Ilihue Alto and Ilihue Bajo. In this village is the Ilihue Private School, as well as green areas and the Ilihue Bajo Golf Course. In Ilihue, there is also the Salto Los Mañíos, a trail that stands out for its nature and for the waterfall that flows into the Iculpe River. Lago Ranco is a List of towns in Chile, town and Communes of Chile, commune in southern Chile administered by the Municipality of Lago Ranco. It is located in Ranco Province in Los Ríos Region. Lago Ranco takes its name from Ranco Lake, which it shares with the commune of Futrono, Chile, Futrono. History Ranco Lake Basin was inhabited since ancient times by indigenous people belonging to Huilliche "people of the south", which was characterized by a more peaceful than that of the Mapuche. However, this was not the norm, as demonstrated in the great rebellion led by toqui Pelantaru in 1599. Lake Ranco
Lake Ranco () is situated in the Ranco Province of Los Lagos Region in Chile. Covering an area of 442 km2, it is the largest lake in the Los Ríos Region and the fourth largest in Chile. It has approximately 25 islands and islets, but only 4 are currently inhabited. The lake is known for sport fishing and offers attractions like La Piedra Mesa and the Nilahue waterfall.
