IF Boltic
IF Boltic is a Swedish sports club from the town Karlstad. The club was founded in the district of Herrhagen in Karlstad on 1 November 1946. The name Boltic was created due to the interest for British football, by adding the beginning of Bolton to the end of Celtic. Together, this makes Boltic. Originally, the club did not only play bandy, but had also sections for handball and association football. IF Boltic was for a number of years the most successful bandy team in Sweden and also one of the best in the world. IF Boltic was until 2021 the only club which had managed to become Swedish champion for both men and women the same year. IF Boltic was merged with IF Göta and formed the new club BS BolticGöta on 11 May 2000. However, the first team again played as IF Boltic from the winter of 2008-2009. This is a list of all full-length (400 meter) indoor speed skating rinks in the world. The Richmond Olympic Oval and the Sport und Koncert Komplex (Winter Stadium) are the only venues to have been dismantled as a speed skating rink, in 2010 and 1992 respectively. European Cup (bandy)
The European Cup was an annual bandy club competition between teams from Europe. The first edition of the tournament was held in 1974. The most recent competition was in 2009, but it has not been formally discontinued. Clubs qualified for the cup by becoming champions in their own national championship. This meant that only four teams took part, the national championship teams from Finland, Norway, the Soviet Union – eventually replaced by Russia – and Sweden. Bandy World Cup
The Bandy World Cup is an international bandy competition played in Sweden at the beginning of the bandy season every year, in autumn. The participating teams qualify based on their results in the previous bandy season. The World Cup is not played by national teams but is for bandy clubs from around the world, and should therefore not be confused with the Bandy World Championship. It is usually considered to be "the world championship for clubs". The tournament has been dominated by the Swedish and Russian teams.
