The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) awards achievement medals to recognize engineers who have been significant contribution to various fields in engineering Every year, the award committee seeks and evaluates nominations and makes decision on winners. There is no age limit or nationality requirement. It is an international award. Institution Of Engineering And Technology
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is a multidisciplinary professional engineering institution. The IET was formed in 2006 from two separate institutions: the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), dating back to 1871,Engineering Council UKECUK Institution Details Accessed on 30 August 2016 and the Institute of Incorporated Engineers (IIE), dating back to 1884. Edward Atkin is a businessman, investor and entrepreneur based in the UK and was CEO of Avent. His company was acquired by Philips in 2006 for £460 million. His company was then renamed Philips AVENT. According to The ''Sunday Times Rich List'' in 2019, Atkin is worth £267 million. Chris Hadfield
Chris Austin Hadfield (born August 29, 1959) is a Canadian retired astronaut, engineer, fighter pilot, musician, and writer. As the first Canadian to perform extravehicular activity in outer space, he has flown two Space Shuttle missions and also served as commander of the International Space Station (ISS). Prior to his career as an astronaut, he served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years as an Air Command fighter pilot. Hadfield has cited part of his career inspiration to have come to him as a child, when he watched the first crewed Moon landing by American spaceflight Apollo 11 on television. Harold Vincent Poor is the Michael Henry Strater University Professor of Electrical Engineering at Princeton University, where he is also the Interim Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Chris Toumazou
Christofer "Chris" Toumazou, CEng (, born 5 July 1961) is a British Cypriot electronic engineer. He is perhaps best known for inventing a fast and portable means of genome sequencing, following his 13-year-old son's diagnosis with end stage kidney failure through a rare genetic mutation. In 2013 he became London's first Regius Professor of Engineering conferred to Imperial College London. For his inventions in semiconductor-based genetic testing he won the Gabor Medal of the Royal Society (2013) and European Inventor Award (2014). John Mathew Cioffi (born November 7, 1956) is an American electrical engineer, educator and inventor who has made contributions in telecommunication system theory, specifically in coding theory and information theory.
