ICCF England
The ICCF England belongs to the ICCF national member federations. Creation of EFCC 1962 saw the formation of the British Postal Chess Federation (BPCF). The name was changed to the British Federation of Correspondence Chess (BFCC) in 1999, and then again to English Federation for Correspondence Chess (2015). Principal Achievements Great Britain won the Gold Medal in Olympiad IX and thereafter the same followed up to gain the Silver Medal in Olympiad X representing England. Simon Webb (chess Player)
Simon Webb (10 June 1949 – 14 March 2005) was a British chess player and writer who held the chess titles of International Master and Correspondence Chess Grandmaster. Born in London, he was joint British under-18 champion in 1966, and fourth in the European Junior Championship in 1969. Webb was briefly a professional player in the late 1970s, participated in a number of strong tournaments, and met some strong players, including a 17-year-old Garry Kasparov at the 1980 European Team Championship (Webb lost). At one event, he was assigned a lady translator. Webb married her and took her to England. He was joint second in the 1975 British Championship behind William Hartston. Perhaps his best tournament result was joint first with Liuben Spassov at Hamburg 1977, ahead of István Csom and Milan Matulović. Michael Read (chess Player)
Michael Peter Read MBE (born 9 June 1941) is an English long-distance swimmer who has the fourth most crossings of the English Channel – 33 to date. The current ''Queen of the Channel'' is Chloë McCardel with 44 crossings. Competitive swimming Born in Brighton, Read began swimming relatively late at 14 years old. He joined Brighton Swimming Club in 1955 and became its youngest committee member in 1957. Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee (15 April 1901 – 27 May 1986) was an Indian independence activist and politician who served three short terms as the Chief Minister of West Bengal.
