Hulbert Aldrich
Hulbert S. Aldrich (1907–1995) was an American banking executive and businessman who had a lengthy career with the New York Trust Company and its predecessor, the Chemical Bank, serving as director of both organizations during his career. He also chaired the Commonwealth Fund Board of Directors from 1969 through 1977 and served as a board member of Hill Samuel, IBM, and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Life and career Aldrich, a graduate from Yale University, was born in Fall River,Massachusetts, in 1907. His older brother was the American football player Malcolm "Mac" Pratt Aldrich. In 1930, he joined the staff of the New York Trust Company (NYTC), where he was appointed vice president in 1943. He remained in that position until 1950, when he became president and director of the NYTC. Hulbert Footner
Hulbert Footner (April 2, 1879 – November 17, 1944) was a Canadian born American writer of primarily detective fiction. He also wrote some non-fiction. Early career He was born William Hulbert Footner in Hamilton, Ontario on April 2, 1879. His mother lived in New York City and was visiting with her parents in Hamilton, Ontario. Frances Christina Mills and Harold John Footner were his parents. Her family were loyalists who fled the United States between 1775 and 1815 and considered themselves British loyalists rather than either citizens of the United States or Canada throughout the 19th Century. His grandfather, William Footner, was born in England and emigrated to Canada, and settled in Montreal and had a career in architecture; one of his surviving structures is Bonsecours Market, built in 1845. Hulbert Taft
Hulbert Taft (September 19, 1877 – January 19, 1959) was an American journalist, publisher, and member of the Taft family of Ohio. As editor, publisher, and later, chairman of the board of directors, of the ''Cincinnati Times-Star,'' Taft was an influential figure in local and national politics throughout the first half of the twentieth century. He was a grandson of Alphonso Taft, Secretary of War during the Grant administration; a nephew of President William Howard Taft; and cousin of Ohio Senator Robert A. Taft. Hulbert Harrington Warner (1842–1923) was a Rochester, Monroe County, New York, Rochester, New York businessman and philanthropist who made his fortune from the sales of patent medicine. Biography He was born near Syracuse, New York, in a small settlement called Warners, New York, Warners. Warners had been named for Warner's grandfather, Seth, who had moved there in 1807 from Stockbridge, Massachusetts. In 1865, Warner moved to Michigan to engage in the stove and hardware business. Hulbert is a town in Cherokee County, Oklahoma, United States, named after Ben H. Hulbert, a prominent Cherokee man. The population was 483 at the 2020 census, previously it was 590 in 2010. The Clear Creek Monastery, recently elevated to the status of an abbey, is a foundation abbey of France's Notre Dame de Fontgombault, which is itself a foundation abbey of Saint Pierre de Solesmes, also in France. History The Hulbert Store and Grist Mill was built in 1890 were built between the towns of Wagoner and Tahlequah in 1890. Hulbert Township, Michigan
Hulbert Township is a civil township of Chippewa County in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 168. Geography Hulbert Township is located in western Chippewa County on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The township is bordered to the west by Luce County and to the south by Mackinac County. Highway M-28 crosses the township, leading east towards Sault Ste. Marie and west towards Newberry. The unincorporated community of Hulbert is located north of M-28 along the former Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic Railway. USS ''Hulbert'' (DD-342/AVD-6) was a ''Clemson''-class destroyer in the United States Navy following World War I. She was named for Henry Hulbert. Service history ''Hulbert'' was launched by Norfolk Navy Yard, Portsmouth, Virginia, 28 June 1918; sponsored by Mrs. V. C. Hulbert, widow of Lieutenant Hulbert; and commissioned 27 October 1920. Prewar service Following shakedown training out of Norfolk, Virginia, ''Hulbert'' took part in destroyer maneuvers in the Atlantic until June 1921, when she assisted in ordnance tests on obsolete American and captured German ships. For the next year, the ship operated out of Newport with other destroyers. ''Hulbert'' sailed 20 June 1922 for duty on the Asiatic Station, steaming via the Mediterranean and Ceylon to Chefoo, China, 26 August.
