Hughes Bay
Hughes Bay is a bay lying between Cape Sterneck and Cape Murray along the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. It is wide and lies south of Chavdar Peninsula and north of Pefaur (Ventimiglia) Peninsula, indenting the Danco Coast on the west side of Graham Land for . History The name has appeared on maps for over 100 years, and commemorates Edward Hughes, master of the ''Sprightly'', a sealing vessel owned by the London whaling company Samuel Enderby & Sons, which explored in this area in 1824–25. Hughes Bay may have been site of the first landing on the Antarctic mainland, by sealers from the U.S. sealing vessel ''Cecilia'' under Captain John Davis on February 7, 1821. SCAR |

Blériot Glacier
Blériot Glacier () is a short, but wide, glacier lying east of Salvesen Cove and Zimzelen Glacier and southwest of Cayley Glacier on Danco Coast, Graham Land in Antarctica. Photographed by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition in 1956–57, and mapped from these photos by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey, it was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1960 for Louis Blériot (1872–1936), a French aviator who in 1907 flew the first full-size powered monoplane, and who made the first flight across the English Channel in July 1909. Breguet Glacier () is a glacier flowing into Cierva Cove south of Gregory Glacier, on the west coast of Graham Land. It was shown on an Argentine government chart of 1957, and named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1960 for Louis Breguet and Jacques Breguet, French aircraft designers who built and flew the first helicopter to carry a man, in vertical flight. Cayley Glacier () is a glacier flowing northwest into the south side of Brialmont Cove, on the west coast of Graham Land. History Cayley Glacier was photographed by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition in 1956–57 and mapped from these photos by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey. It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1960 for Sir George Cayley, English engineer, the "father of aeronautica," who first defined the main principles of mechanical flight, 1796–1857, and also designed the first caterpillar tractor in 1826.
