Harry Potter Alliance
Fandom Forward (formerly The Harry Potter Alliance) is a nonprofit organization that was initially run by ''Harry Potter'' fans but that has since expanded to include members of various fandoms. It was founded by Andrew Slack in 2005 to draw attention to human rights violations in Sudan. Since then, the organization's campaigns have focused on topics such as literacy, United States immigration reform, economic justice, LGBT rights, sexism, labor rights, mental health, body image, and climate change. They have received recognition from many popular figures in the ''Harry Potter'' community and have been the subject of multiple academic studies on fan activism and civic engagement among youth. History 2005–2008 Fandom Forward was founded in 2005 as The Harry Potter Alliance by comedian Andrew Slack and the wizard rock band Harry and the Potters, initially collecting donations for Amnesty International at their shows. In 2006, the organization partnered with Walmart Watch to ...

Human Platelet Antigen
Human platelet antigens (HPA) are polymorphisms in platelet antigens. These can stimulate production of alloantibodies (that is, antibodies against other people's antigens) in recipients of transfused platelets from donors with different HPAs. These antibodies cause neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia, post-transfusion purpura, and some cases of platelet transfusion refractoriness to infusion of donor platelets. __TOC__ Overview A nomenclature was devised by International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), platelet working party to overcome problems generated by many different nomenclatures in use. Since inception of this list, a greater number of antigens have been described and the molecular basis of many has been resolved. To date, 24 platelet-specific alloantigens have been defined by immune sera, of which 12 are grouped in six biallelic systems (HPA-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -15). For the remaining 12, alloantibodies against the thetical but not the antithetical antigen have ...

Honor Oak Park Railway Station
Honor Oak Park railway station serves the suburban area of Honor Oak in the London Borough of Lewisham. It is down the line from , between and . The station is operated by London Overground, with London Overground and Southern trains serving the station. Thameslink and some Southern services pass through the station. It is located in Travelcard Zone 3. History The line on which it stands was opened in 1839, but this station was only opened by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway on 1 April 1886. The housebuilders who were developing the area contributed £1,000 towards the cost of construction. There are four tracks through the station, with platforms on the outer Slow lines. These platforms are connected to the booking office (see illustration) by a footbridge. It was named to distinguish it from the Honor Oak station which existed at the time. London Overground took over operating the station in September 2009, which has benefited from the London Overground Eas ...

Autoscaling
Autoscaling, also spelled auto scaling or auto-scaling, and sometimes also called automatic scaling, is a method used in cloud computing that dynamically adjusts the amount of computational resources in a server farm - typically measured by the number of active servers - automatically based on the load on the farm. For example, the number of servers running behind a web application may be increased or decreased automatically based on the number of active users on the site. Since such metrics may change dramatically throughout the course of the day, and servers are a limited resource that cost money to run even while idle, there is often an incentive to run "just enough" servers to support the current load while still being able to support sudden and large spikes in activity. Autoscaling is helpful for such needs, as it can reduce the number of active servers when activity is low, and launch new servers when activity is high. Autoscaling is closely related to, and builds upon, the idea ...

High-pressure Air
Paintball is an equipment-intensive sport and in order to safely conduct a game, every player requires a paintball marker, marker with propellant to fire the paint, a mask to protect the eyes and face, Paintball equipment#Paintballs, paintballs, and a loader to hold them. To ensure safety off the playing field, a barrel sock or plug for the marker is also compulsory. Depending on type of play, additional equipment can include gloves, a pack designed to comfortably carry pods containing extra paintballs, and a squeegee or swab for cleaning out the barrel in case a paintball breaks. Players may also elect to wear padding or armor in order to reduce the impact of incoming paintballs. Markers A paintball marker is the primary piece of equipment used in paintball to tag an opposing player. An expanding gas (usually carbon dioxide or high-pressure air) forces a paintball through the barrel at a muzzle velocity of approximately . This velocity is sufficient for most paintballs to break ...
