The Majestic Hotel (formerly ''Hotel Majestic'') located at Schneider Square in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England is a Hotel rating, 3-star Listed building, Grade II listed hotel constructed in 1904. The building was designed by JY McIntosh and contains elements of Edwardian architecture, Edwardian and Jacobean architecture, Jacobean architecture. It is also noted for its striking rounded Architecture of the Netherlands, Flemish gables. £1.7 million was spent on refurbishing the hotel in 2008 by developers One Leisure, although ownership of the Majestic, and its nearby sister hotel the Imperial Hotel, Barrow-in-Furness, Imperial, have since been transferred. Majestic Hotel (Atlanta)
The Majestic Hotel was built in 1898 and located at 195 Peachtree Street NW in Atlanta, between Ellis St. and Cain St. (now Andrew Young Int'l. Blvd.). It was a major addition to the city's hotel capacity at its completion in the 1890s. It cost between $80,000 and $100,000 to build, and was the first brick and steel fireproof construction in the city. A 1902 guidebook describes the Majestic as one of three chief first-class hotels in the city, together with the Kimball House and the Hotel Aragon. In 1927 the hotel was razed to make way for a two-story commercial structure. The site is part of the location of today's 191 Peachtree Tower. ''Traffic and Weather'' is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Fountains of Wayne. It was released on Virgin Records in April 2007. Background While previous Fountains of Wayne albums saw lead singer Chris Collingwood and bassist Adam Schlesinger write songs separately then arrange them with the rest of the band, initial work on their fourth album saw them trying a new approach in which they wanted to get guitarist Jody Porter and drummer Brian Young more involved by jamming together at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, New York. While it yielded many ideas, it didn't result in any finished songs. In the end, "Strapped for Cash" was the only song developed from the Bearsville sessions, as the band reverted to their usual methods. However, Collingwood was suffering from depression and alcoholism during the making of the album. The Hotel Majestic is a historic luxury hotel located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Built by local Chinese businessman Hui Bon Hoa in 1925 in a French Colonial and classical French Riviera styles. Bon Hoa was one of the richest business men in southern Vietnam at the time. The original design of the hotel had three stories and 44 bedrooms. In 1948, Mathieu Franchini, head of the Indochina Tourism & Exhibition Department bought the ground and first floors of the hotel and rented 44 rooms in the building for the next 30 years. The hotel was expanded in 1965; two more stories were added based on the design of Vietnamese architect Ngo Viet Thu. It is located at 1 Dong Khoi Street, formerly rue Catinat. The Majestic (also known as the Majestic Apartments) is a Housing cooperative, cooperative apartment building at 115 Central Park West, between 71st and 72nd Street (Manhattan), 72nd Streets, adjacent to Central Park on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. Old Portal de Mercaderes in the historic center of Mexico City was and is the west side of the main plaza (otherwise known as the " Zócalo"). This side of the plaza has been occupied by commercial structures since the Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire in 1521. Today the west side of the square is dominated by two sets of buildings with Madero Street dividing them as it runs west from the Zocalo to the Palace of Bellas Artes.
