Nena Daconte () is a Spanish pop band created and led by singer and composer Mai Meneses in Barcelona circa 2005. The band takes its name inspired by a character from the short story "The Trail Of Your Blood On The Snow", by Gabriel García Márquez. Early years Fanlo left the formation and Mai Meneses continues as the lead singer and songwriter of Nena Daconte. Before the creation of Nena Daconte, Mai Meneses participated in the second edition of a Spanish TV singing contest called Operacion Triunfo. Discography He Perdido los Zapatos (2006) Nena Daconte's first album was titled ''He perdido los zapatos'' (I´ve Lost My Shoes) and it was edited and produced by Daconte Music, the band's own record label, in 2005. María Isabel González-Meneses García-Valdecasas (; born 4 January 1978), known mononymously as Mai Meneses (), is a Spanish singer and songwriter and leader of the Spanish pop band Nena Daconte. Life and career Early life and career beginnings Born in Madrid, Mai is the youngest of six siblings. Due to her parents' itinerant work, she grew up in Zaragoza and Jaen, and later settled in Madrid to attend college, where she received in 2000 a JD degree (law) from Universidad San Pablo CEU (Madrid). Marta Sánchez López (born 8 May 1966) is a Spanish singer. She has sold in excess of 10 million albums. Biography Marta was born in Madrid (Spain). Her father, Antonio Sánchez Camporro, was an Asturian opera singer. She began her musical career with the band Cristal Oskuro, but shortly after she was discovered by Tino Azores, a sound technician for the popular pop/rock group Olé Olé. Antonio Vega Tallés (a.k.a. Antonio Vega) (16 December 1957 – 12 May 2009) was a Spanish pop singer-songwriter. Biography He was born in Madrid. In a psychologist test he got 168 of intelligence quotient. He studied at the Liceo Francés de Madrid, where he acted for the first time at aged 14. Antonio Vega has been considered one of the fundamental composers of Spanish pop since the beginning of democracy.
