Hauser is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. The population was 678 at the 2010 census. The city is located on the southern end of Hauser Lake. Geography Hauser is located at (47.770399, -117.017401). The Washington-Idaho state line lies just to the west of Hauser. Idaho State Highway 53 runs along the southern edge of the city, providing transportation east to Rathdrum and west into Spokane metropolitan area. Hauser is part of the larger Spokane–Coeur d'Alene combined statistical area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land. Zvi Hauser ( he, צבי האוזר; born 5 July 1968) is an Israeli lawyer and politician. He was a member of the Knesset for New Hope and also served as an MK for Blue and White and Derekh Eretz from 2019 to 2021. Biography Zvi Hauser was born in Ramat Gan to Mordechai and Yehudit Hauser, the youngest of three. He was born with a heart defect and went through successful open heart surgery at the age of eight. At the age of eleven he played basketball for Maccabi Ramat Gan. He attended Blich high school in Ramat Gan, where he served as the national chairman of the youth wing of the Tehiya Party. Hauser enlisted as part of Israel's mandatory military service and served in the IDF's School of Leadership Development. Gerald Dwight "Wings" Hauser (born December 12, 1947) is an American actor and occasional director. He received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his supporting role in '' Tough Guys Don't Dance'' (1987). Life and career Hauser was born in Hollywood, California, the son of Geraldine (née Thienes) and director and producer Dwight Hauser (1911–1969). His brother is actor Erich Hauser. In 1967, Hauser landed his first acting role as a marine rifleman in the World War II-drama ''First to Fight''. The Manhattan Transfer is a Grammy award–winning vocal group founded in 1969 that has explored a cappella, vocalese, swing, standards, Brazilian jazz, rhythm and blues, and pop music. There have been two editions of the Manhattan Transfer, with Tim Hauser the only person to be part of both. The first group consisted of Hauser, Erin Dickins, Marty Nelson, Pat Rosalia, and Gene Pistilli. The second version of the group, formed in 1972, consisted of Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel, and Laurel Massé. In 1979, Massé left the group after being badly injured in a car accident and was replaced by Cheryl Bentyne. The group's long-time pianist, Yaron Gershovsky, accompanied the group on tour and served as music director. Timothy DuPron Hauser (December 12, 1941 – October 16, 2014) was a singer and founding member of the vocal group The Manhattan Transfer. He won 10 Grammy Awards as a member of The Manhattan Transfer. Early life Hauser was born in Troy, New York. When he was seven he moved with his family to the Jersey Shore, living in Wanamassa, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, and, later, in Asbury Park. He graduated in 1959 from St. Rose High School ( Belmar), where an award in his name has been given every year since 1989 to students who excel in theater arts. When he was fifteen, he began to sing professionally. He founded a doo-wop quartet named The Criterions. Samuel Thomas Hauser (January 10, 1833 – November 10, 1914) was an American industrialist and banker who was active in the development of Montana Territory. He made his first fortune in silver mines and railroads, but he lost everything in the Panic of 1893. He restored his fortune by building hydroelectric dams, only to lose it all again after his Hauser Dam burst. In addition to his many business interests, he was appointed the 7th Governor of the Montana Territory, serving from 1885 to 1887.
