Happily Ever After (Magic Kingdom)
''Happily Ever After'' is a fireworks and projection mapping show which debuted at the Magic Kingdom on May 12, 2017. Unlike its predecessor, '' Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams'', the show included projection mapping across Cinderella Castle, lasers, and searchlights, in addition to pyrotechnics. The show included characters and music from a wide array of Disney films. The music also included a theme song adapted from Hong Kong Disneyland's 10th anniversary celebration (and its subsequent show ''Mickey and the Wondrous Book'') and Shanghai Disneyland's Mickey's Storybook Adventure; the song was written by Adam Watts, Melissa Peirce, and Andrew Dodd, and performed by Angie Keilhauer and Jordan Fisher. Cinderella Castle
Cinderella Castle is Cinderella's home fairy tale castle and the icon at the center of two Disney theme parks: the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, and Tokyo Disneyland at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Both serve as the flagship attraction for their respective theme parks. Along with Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Castle is a main symbol of The Walt Disney Company. "Part of Your World" is a song written by lyricist Howard Ashman and composer Alan Menken for Disney's animated feature film ''The Little Mermaid'' (1989). Performed by American actress and singer Jodi Benson in the titular role as Ariel, a mermaid princess, "Part of Your World" is a power ballad in which the main character expresses her strong desire to become human; its lyrics use placeholder names in lieu of several human-related terms that would be unfamiliar to a mermaid. "Down in New Orleans" is a song from Disney's 2009 animated film ''The Princess and the Frog'', written by Randy Newman. Several versions of the song were recorded for use in different parts of the film and other materials. The song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 82nd Academy Awards but lost to " The Weary Kind" from ''Crazy Heart''. The full version of the song appears at the title sequence in the film, performed by Dr. John. The song introduces the city of New Orleans and foreshadows the manipulations of Dr. Facilier, the film's main villain. A searchlight (or spotlight) is an apparatus that combines an extremely bright source (traditionally a carbon arc lamp) with a mirrored parabolic reflector to project a powerful beam of light of approximately parallel rays in a particular direction.
