Hans Cornelis
Hans Cornelis (born 13 October 1982) is a Belgian professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of Belgian Division 2 club Lokeren-Temse. Playing career Cornelis was part of a last minute transfer deal in the late evening of 31 August 2009. Cercle Brugge and Genk came to an extensive agreement: Cornelis was sold to Cercle Brugge, his teammate Jelle Vossen joined him on loan. Thomas Buffel made the opposite move. Following a trial at Notts County, Cornelis joined Deinze for the 2015–16 season. Managerial career After having played for lower league club Zwevezele from 2017, Cornelis took over as player-coach in 2019. One year later, he retired from playing football and continued as the team's manager. After Zwevezele withdrew from the national competitions after the 2021–22 season, Cornelis was appointed new head coach of Belgian Division 2 club Lokeren-Temse on 4 June 2022. Eeklo
Eeklo () is a Belgian municipality in the Flemish province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises only the town of Eeklo proper. The name ''Eeklo'' comes from the contraction of "eke" and "lo", two Old German words meaning ''oak'' and ''sparse woods'' (compare English ''Oakley''). History Origins and Middle Ages There are not many traces of early habitation in the Eeklo area. It is presumed that some oaks would have attracted the attention of travellers on the Roman road that ran along the local sandbar among the marshes. By 1240, a town had grown here and had already become important enough to warrant a civic charter by Jeanne of Constantinople, Countess of Flanders. 2021–22 Belgian Division 2
The 2021–22 Belgian Division 2 is the sixth season of the division in its current format, placed at the fourth-tier of football in Belgium. As the previous season was cancelled in January 2021 due to governmental measures against COVID-19 prohibiting amateur football, the division features nearly exactly teams. As before the division consists of three separate leagues of 16 teams each. Leagues VFV A and VFV B consist of teams with a license from the Voetbalfederatie Vlaanderen (VFV, the Flemish/Dutch speaking wing of the Belgian FA), while the ACFF league contains teams with a license from the Association des Clubs Francophones de Football (ACFF, the French-speaking wing of the RBFA). The 2004 Belgian Supercup was a football match between the winners of the previous season's Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup competitions. The match was contested by Cup winners Club Brugge, and 2004–05 Belgian First Division champions, Anderlecht on 22 December 2004 at the ground of the league champions as usual, in this case the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium. Club Brugge won its twelfth supercup in total, as it beat Anderlecht 2-0 through goals by Sebastian Hermans and Rune Lange. The 2003 Belgian Supercup was a football match between the winners of the previous season's Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup competitions. The match was contested by Cup winners La Louvière, and 2002–03 Belgian First Division champions, Club Brugge on 2 August 2003 at the ground of the league champions as usual, in this case the Jan Breydel Stadium. La Louvière took an early lead through Vervalle, with Nastja Čeh providing the equalizer just before the hour mark. Club Brugge eventually won its second consecutive Supercup title and 11th in total, as it beat La Louvière on penalty kicks. The Belgian Cup (french: link=no, Coupe de Belgique; nl, Beker van België []; german: link=no, Belgischer Fußballpokal) is the main Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in Belgium, run by the Belgian Football Association, Royal Belgian FA. The competition started in 1908 with provincial selections as the "Belgian Provinces Cup". Starting from 1912 only actual clubs were allowed to partake. As of 1964, the Belgian Cup has been organised annually. Since the 2015–16 edition, the Belgian Cup is called the Croky Cup, for sponsorship purposes.
