Harry Hynd
Henry Hynd (4 July 1900 – 1 February 1985), known as Harry Hynd, was a British Labour Party politician. He was first elected as a Member of Parliament for Hackney Central at the 1945 General Election. He moved seats at the 1950 General Election and represented Accrington until he retired from the House of Commons at the 1966 General Election. John Burns Hynd
John Burns Hynd (4 April 1902 – 8 November 1971) was a British Labour Party politician. Educated at St Ninian's Episcopal School and Caledonian Road School, Perth, he left school at 14 and became a Railway Clerk in the District Office of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, Perth, where he worked until 1925. He then became a Trade Union Clerk with the National Union of Railwaymen until 1944. Hynd was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for Sheffield Attercliffe at a by-election in 1944, holding the seat until 1970. He held office as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and Minister for Germany and Austria, 1945–1947, and as Minister of Pensions during 1947. He was a Member of the General Medical Council from 1950 to 1955. He was Chairman of the Anglo-German and Anglo-Latin American Parliamentary Groups. Oliver Hynd
Oliver William Hynd MBE, known as Ollie, (born 27 October 1994 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire) is a British swimmer. He competed in the Paralympics as a class 8 swimmer, having neuromuscular myopathy and associated limb deformities. In 2018, following reclassification protocols, Hynd moved into the S9 class, but remained in SB8 for breaststroke. Hynd made his international debut at the 2011 IPC European Championships where he won the 200 m individual medley, beating his older brother Sam's previous European record. In the 400 m freestyle, he finished in second place just behind brother Sam. Hynd won a gold medal in the SM8 200m individual medley at the 2012 London Paralympics. He also claimed a silver in the S8 men's 400m freestyle and a bronze in the S8 men's 100m backstroke. Roger Hynd
John Roger Shankly Hynd (2 February 194218 February 2017) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a centre half. He started his playing career at Rangers, for whom he played in the 1967 European Cup Winners' Cup Final, before moving to the English Football League. He played nearly 300 League matches for Crystal Palace, Birmingham Citywith whom he played more than 200 games and was named Player of the Year as they won promotion to the First Division in 1972Oxford United and Walsall. He had a brief spell as manager of Motherwell and a six-game spell as interim manager of St Johnstone before leaving professional football to work as a PE teacher. He was the nephew of Bill Shankly. Ronald Hynd (born 22 April 1931) is an English choreographer, and in his youth was a ballet dancer. In the Royal Ballet in the late 1940s he began to dance with Annette Page, whom he later married. Sam Hynd (born 3 July 1991) is a retired British para-swimmer. He competed in the Paralympics as a S8 classification swimmer, having club feet and mild form of muscular dystrophy. Hynd achieved significant success in the 400m Freestyle, winning gold at the 2008 Summer Paralympics, the 2009 and 2011 IPC European Championships, and the 2009 IPC World Championships. Thomas Simpson Hynd (6 July 1930 – 20 October 2011) was an Australian businessman and politician. He was a National Party member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 1986 to 1989, representing the electorate of Nerang. Hynd was born in Sydney, the son of a coalminer. He attended Chatswood Primary School, Mosman High School and Gore Hill Technical College. He trained as a master builder, and later opened TS Hynd Pty Ltd, a business specialising in electronic doors.
