Hugo Anzorreguy
Hugo Alfredo Anzorreguy Recobiche (born July 10, 1938) was the Secretary of Intelligence of the Argentine Republic from January 30, 1990 to December 10, 1999, during most of Carlos Menem's presidency. At nine years, Anzorreguy was the longest serving Secretary of Intelligence, and was the head of SIDE during some of its most scandalous years. Anzorreguy was born in the city of Buenos Aires, where he studied to be a lawyer. He is currently indicted in the AMIA Bombing case for tampering with evidence. Secretariat of Intelligence of the State (, mostly known by its acronym SIDE) is the premier intelligence agency of the Argentina, Argentine Republic and head of its Sistema de Inteligencia Nacional, National Intelligence System. The AMIA bombing occurred on 18 July 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and targeted the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA; ), a Jewish Community Center, Jewish Community Centre. Juan Bautista Yofre
Juan Bautista 'Tata' Yofre is an Argentine journalist and writer, and a former politician and journalist. Yofre was the Argentine Secretary of Intelligence from 1989 to 1990, in the early part of Carlos Menem's presidency. He was replaced by Hugo Anzorreguy following constant accusations of corruption surrounding the Presidential environment. He later occupied positions as ambassador to Panama and other countries. In 2008 he was indicted on charges of espionage for using his Intelligence contacts for intercepting email messages from members of the government. While the court found he had done so, he was later acquitted because those emails were not considered classified information. In 2024, he declared his support for the May 25th Pact.
