Hsieh Su-wei
Hsieh Su-wei (; ; born 4 January 1986) is a Taiwanese professional tennis player. A former List of WTA number 1 ranked doubles tennis players, world No. 1 in Doubles tennis, doubles with nine Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam titles, she is regarded as one of the most successful and versatile doubles players in history. She also reached world No. 23 in singles, and is the highest-ranked Taiwanese player in history in both singles and doubles. She is known for playing with two hands on both sides, flat and quick groundstrokes, crafty and wily gameplay, aggressive volleys, and unorthodox variety of shots. Hsieh reached her career-high singles WTA rankings, ranking of No. 23 on 25 February 2013. On 12 May 2014, she reached No. 1 in the doubles rankings. Xie (; ) is a Chinese-language surname. lt is usually romanized as "Hsieh" in Taiwan. It is estimated that there are more than ten million people with this surname, most of whom live in Taiwan, Southern China, South East Asia, America, Europe and Africa. It is particularly common in Taiwan where it is the 13th most common surname in 2016. Hsieh Su-wei and Wang Xinyu defeated Leylah Fernandez and Taylor Townsend in the final, 1–6, 7–6(7–5), 6–1 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2023 French Open. It was Hsieh's second French Open title (following 2014), and fifth major title overall; it was Wang's first major title. Fernandez became the first Canadian finalist. Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic were the reigning champions, but Garcia chose not to participate. Mladenovic partnered with Zhang Shuai, but lost in the second round to Hsieh and Wang. 2024 Wimbledon Championships – Mixed Doubles
Jan Zieliński and Hsieh Su-wei defeated Santiago González and Giuliana Olmos in the final, 6–4, 6–2 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. González and Olmos were the first Mexican team to reach the final, and Olmos was the first female Mexican finalist in the Open Era. Mate Pavić and Lyudmyla Kichenok were the defending champions, but they withdrew from their second-round match. Bethanie Mattek-Sands was vying for a career Grand Slam and Golden Slam, but lost in the first round to Máximo González and Ulrikke Eikeri. Because of the weather during the first week, the final had to be delayed until Sunday, and the tournament was played with a super tie-break in lieu of a final set. Laura Siegemund and Édouard Roger-Vasselin defeated Desirae Krawczyk and Neal Skupski in the final, 6–4, 7–5 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2024 French Open. Hsieh Su-wei and Jan Zieliński defeated Desirae Krawczyk and Neal Skupski in the final, 6–7(5–7), 6–4, 1–9to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2024 Australian Open.
