How’s My Pop
Hows My Pop were a four-piece, indie rock band from Lancaster, England. Career The band formed late 2005 and after a few weeks of writing songs together they organised their first show in Lancaster. Soon after their first show they received radio coverage on BBC Radio Lancashire from DJ Sean Mcginty. In the summer of 2006, Hows My Pop were invited to play the first ever Kendal Calling festival alongside such acts as Little Man Tate and British Sea Power. Following a TV appearance on ''City Life Social'' on Channel M in 2006, they played shows at Dpercussion and In The City festivals in Manchester, and supported acts such as The View at The Night and Day Café, The Holloways and The Research. BBC Music Introducing is BBC Radio's platform supporting unsigned, undiscovered, and under-the-radar UK music talent. The backbone of that network consists of 32 BBC local radio shows on stations across England and the Channel Islands, various network shows in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, which also give artists the opportunity to be played nationally on Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, Radio 3, 6 Music and Asian Network, as well as playing Introducing stages at festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, South by Southwest, Latitude Festival and BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. The Research
The Research are a band from Wakefield, England. The members are : Russell 'The Disaster' Searle (vocals/guitar/synthesizers), Georgia Lashbrook (bass/vocals/harmonica), and Sarah Williams (drums/vocals). Their songs - typically about themes of love, loss and fear - are notable for their plaintive lyrics and vocal harmonies. In February 2006 they released their debut album, ''Breaking Up'', via At Large Recordings, a subsidiary of EMI. Following the album's release, the band parted company with At Large, and signed to This Is Fake DIY Records, with whom they released their second album. The Holloways are an English indie rock band from North London. Their single " Generator" reached number 14 in the UK Singles Chart on 11 June 2007. They have had five No. 1 singles on the UK Indie Chart and several Top 40 singles. Their debut album, '' So This Is Great Britain?'', was awarded an 8 out of 10 by ''NME''. History Formation David Jackson and Bryn Fowler established the band, meeting Rob Skipper at the music venue Nambucca on Holloway Road in North London. The Night And Day Café
The Night & Day Café is a café bar and live music venue in Manchester, England. Location It is located in the city's Northern Quarter on Oldham Street, opposite Piccadilly Records. It is near the Afflecks palace shopping arcade and a few minutes' walk from the Market Street/ Arndale Centre shopping areas. History The Night & Day opened in 1991 in a former chip shop in what was (at the time) one of the more desolate parts of town. First owned by Jan Oldenburg, it slowly developed into a music venue and gained a reputation for pioneering live music and supporting alternative bands. The View are a Scottish indie rock band that formed in Dundee in 2005. They incorporate various styles such as punk rock, punk, pop music, pop, alternative rock, and folk rock, folk in their music. British Sea Power
Sea Power, previously known as British Sea Power and initially as British Air Powers, are an English alternative rock band. The group's original lineup consisted of Jan Scott Wilkinson, known as Yan; Martin Noble, known as Noble; and Alison Cotton. By the time the band had begun its recording career, Cotton had departed, and two new members had joined: Neil Hamilton Wilkinson, known as Hamilton, and Matthew Wood, known as Woody.
