Holy Word
"Holy Word" is a song by Australian band I'm Talking. It was released in July 1986 as the second single from the band's debut studio album, ''Bear Witness''. The song peaked at number 9 on the Australian Kent Music Report, becoming the band's third top ten single. Unlike their previous singles, group member Zan Abeyratne sings lead vocal on this track. At the time of the recording, there were tensions that would eventually spell the end of the group as regular lead singer, Kate Ceberano was absent from the recording of the single, resulting in Abeyratne taking over the lead. In an interview with ''The Herald Sun'', Ceberano remembers that missing those sessions, "will always be a thorn in my side." Lead guitarist and composer, Robert Goodge advising that "Up until then Zan had resisted being a full time member, I guess we wanted to reward her as being part of the band and for all the work she'd done." Weather With You
"Weather with You" is a song by Australian-New Zealand rock band Crowded House. It was the third and most successful single released from the group's third studio album '' Woodface'' (1991), reaching top 50 in 10 countries, including the United Kingdom, where it reached number seven. At the APRA Music Awards of 1994, the song won Most Performed Australian Work Overseas. The song was intended to be part of the Finn Brothers' unreleased 1990 debut, but after Capitol Records found the recordings, they were merged with a Crowded House session to become ''Woodface''. In 1996, Crowded House disbanded, releasing a greatest hits album ''Recurring Dream'' in June of that year. "Weather with You" was made the album's first track. Treaty (song)
"Treaty" is a protest song by Australian musical group Yothu Yindi, which is made up of Aboriginal and '' balanda (non-Aboriginal)'' members. Released in June 1991, "Treaty" was the first song by a predominantly Aboriginal band to chart in Australia and was the first song partly in any Aboriginal Australian language to gain extensive international recognition, peaking at No. 6 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play singles charts. The song contains lyrics in Gumatj, one of the Yolngu Matha dialects and a language of the Yolngu people of Arnhem Land in northern Australia. The song was released three years after the presentation of the Barunga Statement to then-Prime Minister Bob Hawke. Yothu Yindi
Yothu Yindi ( Yolngu for "child and mother", pronounced ) are an Australian musical group with Aboriginal and '' balanda'' (non-Aboriginal) members, formed in 1986 as a merger of two bands formed in 1985 – a white rock group called the Swamp Jockeys and an unnamed Aboriginal folk group. The Aboriginal members came from Yolngu homelands near Yirrkala on the Gove Peninsula in Northern Territory's Arnhem Land. Gavin Campbell (music Producer)
Gavin Campbell is an Australian club DJ and remixer based in Melbourne, Victoria. He created the dance music production outfit known as Filthy Lucre, which is known for its 1991 remix of Yothu Yindi's single, "Treaty", known as "Treaty (Filthy Lucre remix)". He is also the founder of Razor Recordings, formerly known as Razor Records. DJ Gavin Campbell was a renowned DJ at many Melbourne clubs of the 1980s and 1990s, including the highly successful Razor, along with Tasty, Savage, Bump! and others. The Tasty nightclub raid, in which Victoria Police raided the club and mistreated its predominantly LGBTQI clientele in 1994, brought the club to public attention, and was a seminal event in the history of gay rights in Australia. Nick Mason
Nicholas Berkeley Mason, (born 27 January 1944) is an English drummer and a founder member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. He is the only member to feature on every Pink Floyd album, and the only constant member since its formation in 1965. He co-wrote Pink Floyd compositions such as "Echoes", "Time", " Careful with That Axe, Eugene", and " One of These Days". Britannia Row Studios
Britannia Row Studios was a recording studio located in Islington, London N1 (1975–1995), and then in Fulham, London SW6, England (1995–2015). The original studio was built by the British rock band Pink Floyd in a three-story block at 35 Britannia Row, Islington, London N1, after their 1975 album '' Wish You Were Here'' was released. Pink Floyd used the studio to record their album ''Animals'' and parts of ''The Wall,'' including the school chorus on "Another Brick in the Wall". Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason eventually assumed full ownership of the studio. In the early 1990s, he sold the business to Kate Koumi, who had been managing it since the mid-1980s.
