Hlegu District
Hlegu Township (, ) is the only township in Hlegu District () in northern Yangon Region, Myanmar. It is northeast of the city Yangon and is largely rural. The township only has one town: the principal town of Hlegu, which has five urban wards. The rural portion of the township contains 168 villages grouped into 57 village tracts. In April 2022, the township was promoted to become its own district, splitting off from North Yangon District. The township's Paunglin Dam and Ngamoeyeik Reservoir supply water to over 28,300 hectares (70,000 acres) of farmland between Hlegu and Mingaladon, and nearly 340 million liters (90 million gallons) of water a day to the people living in Yangon. The township is prone to flooding from the Ngamoeyeik River and Bago River. In 2014, floods affected 3000 people in the villages of Ngwenanthar, Malit, Sinhpon, Sitpinmyauk and Yaekyaw villages. North Dagon Township
North Dagon Township (also North Dagon Myothit; ) is located in the eastern part of Yangon, Myanmar. The township comprises 25 wards, and shares borders with East Dagon Township in the north and east, South Okkalapa township in the west, and South Dagon township in the south. North Dagon is a relatively more developed area among the new satellite towns founded in 1989 by the State Peace and Development Council, military government. The realestate price is also considered highest among other new satellite townships. The township has 24 primary schools, one middle school and four high schools. Dagon University, the largest undergraduate university in the city, is located in the central part of the township. North Okkalapa Township
North Okkalapa Township ( ) is located in the eastern part of Yangon. The township comprises 19 wards, and shares borders with Hlegu Township and Mingaladon township in the north, North Dagon Township in the east, Mingaladon Township and Mayangon Township in the west, and Kamayut Township, and Mayangon and South Okkalapa Townships in the south. Bago Region (, ; formerly Pegu Division and Bago Division) is an administrative divisions of Myanmar, administrative region of Myanmar, located in the southern central part of the country. It is bordered by Magway Region and Mandalay Region to the north; Kayin State, Mon State and the Gulf of Martaban to the east; Yangon Region to the south and Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State to the west. Taikkyi Township
Taikkyi Township ( ) is the northernmost township of Yangon Region and the only township of Taikkyi District (). The township was split off from North Yangon District on 30 April 2022 to form its own district. The township has 3 towns- the principal town of Taikkyi as well as Oakkan and Aphauk which altogether have 20 urban wards. Yangon–Mandalay Expressway
The Yangon–Mandalay Expressway () is a tolled expressway in Myanmar (Burma) that connects the country's largest city Yangon and second largest city Mandalay. Opened in December 2010, the expressway has reduced the travel time between Yangon and Mandalay to 7 hours from 13 hours by train and from 16 hours by the old highway. The highway, which does not meet international design, construction and safety standards, has seen a spate of accidents since its opening.
