Jason Michael Hirsh (born February 20, 1982) is an American former professional baseball starting pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies. He stands at 6' 8" and weighs . He batted and threw right-handed. He threw a two-seam fastball, a four-seam fastball, a slider, and a changeup. Hirsh was not highly recruited out of high school, but after attending California Lutheran University, he was drafted by the Houston Astros in the second round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft. From 2005–06, Hirsh won the Double-A Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award and the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year Award in successive seasons, as he went a combined 26–10 with 283 strikeouts. David Hirsh
David Hirsh (born 29 September 1967) is a professor of sociology at Goldsmiths, University of London, and co-founder of Engage, a campaign against the academic boycott of Israel. Early life and education Hirsh was raised in a Jewish family in Highgate, London and attended Highgate School until he was 15, when he persuaded his parents to allow him to transfer to Woodhouse Grammar School. For several years, he was a member of the Trotskyist Alliance for Workers' Liberty and, during the 1980s, a leading activist in the National Organisation of Labour Students. He briefly studied physics at Sheffield University, then worked as a driver for several years. Wally Hirsh
Walter Hirsh (24 March 1936 – 31 December 2024) was a New Zealand educator. He served as Race Relations Conciliator between 1986 and 1989. Early life, education and family Hirsh was born in Mönchengladbach, Germany, on 24 March 1936, the son of Margot (née Jammer) and Ernst Hirsh. In 1938, his family fled Nazi persecution to find a new life in Milton, New Zealand, and he became a naturalised New Zealand citizen in 1946. He was educated at Tokomairiro District High School, Macandrew Intermediate School and Otago Boys' High School in Dunedin. Hirsh began studying for a commerce degree at the University of Otago, and in late 1954 he was awarded a scholarship by the Zionist Council for a year's study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He subsequently studied at Wellington Teachers' College and obtained a Trained Teacher's Certificate in 1958. Carolyn Dorothy Hirsh (born 1 August 1937) is a former Australian politician representing Silvan Province in the Victorian Legislative Council. Elected as a member of the Labor Party, she was forced to resign from the party in September 2004 after being booked for driving a car without a licence. This followed an incident earlier in the year when she had lost her licence after being booked by police with an alcohol reading of 0.07, while driving home from an ALP function. She sat as an independent member of the Legislative Council from then until November 2005, when she was re-admitted to the ALP, but was forced to resign a second time on 23 June 2006, after a second drink-driving incident. Nurit Hirsh (; born August 13, 1942) is an Israeli composer, arranger and conductor who has written over a thousand Hebrew songs. Tzvi Hirsh Eichenstein also known as Hirsh Zydaczower (1763, Sambor – June 22, 1831, Żydaczów), was a famous Hasidic Rebbe, a noted Talmudist, Kabbalist and author of novellae on Torah and responsa.
