Highly Strung
''Highly Strung'' is the sixth studio album by English guitarist and songwriter Steve Hackett. "Cell 151" was a minor hit from the album, and charted in the UK. Added to Hackett's band was drummer Ian Mosley, who would join Marillion in 1984. This was Hackett's final studio release for Charisma. In 2007, ''Highly Strung'' was remastered and re-released on Virgin Records. The new edition features updated liner notes and three bonus tracks. The front cover painting is, as on many of Hackett's albums, by his then-wife Kim Poor. Background By the time Hackett started work on ''Highly Strung'' his relationship with management at Charisma Records, with whom he had been signed since the beginning of his solo career, had started to decline. The label began to interfere with Hackett's creative decisions, and the guitarist had noticed that the company was "in disarray" at the time. Steve Hackett
Stephen Richard Hackett (born 12 February 1950) is an English guitarist who gained prominence as the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Genesis (band), Genesis from 1971 to 1977. Hackett contributed to six Genesis studio albums, three live albums, seven singles and one Extended play, EP before he left to pursue a solo career. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010. Hackett released his first solo album, ''Voyage of the Acolyte'', while still a member of Genesis in 1975. After a series of further solo albums beginning in 1978, Hackett co-founded the supergroup (music), supergroup GTR (band), GTR with Steve Howe in 1986. The group released the self-titled album ''GTR (album), GTR'', which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 in the United States and spawned the Top 20 single "When the Heart Rules the Mind". A remaster is a change in the sound or image quality of previously created forms of media, whether Mastering (audio), audiophonic, Cinematography, cinematic, or Videography, videographic. Contrabass
Contrabass (from ) refers to several musical instruments of very low pitch—generally one octave below bass register instruments. Elizabeth Kimball de Albuquerque Poor (born 23 November 1954) is a Brazilian artist. Biography Born in Brazil, Kim Poor first exhibited at the age of 12. At 17 she left Brazil to study Fine Arts at the Parsons School of Design in New York City with Larry Rivers and at Skidmore College in upstate New York where she developed a new technique in painting with ground glass on steel. In 1982, she enrolled at the Central School of Art and Design in London to pursue her interests in printmaking with Norman Ackroyd R.A. Her style and technique of painting uses powdered glass fused on steel and is known as “Diaphanism”. When writing about Poor's 1997 work "What the Jaguar Saw", art critic Edward Lucie-Smith said; "Jaguars play a major role in the mythology of the Amazonian Indians. Liner Notes
Liner notes (also sleeve notes or album notes) are the writings found on the sleeves of LP record albums and in booklets that come inserted into the compact disc jewel case or cassette j-cards. Origin Liner notes are descended from the program notes for musical concerts, and developed into notes that were printed on the outer album jacket or the inner sleeve used to protect a traditional 12-inch vinyl record, i.e., long playing or gramophone record album.
