Hi Diddle Diddle
''Hi Diddle Diddle'' is a 1943 American comedy film made in directed by Andrew L. Stone and starring Adolphe Menjou, Martha Scott, Dennis O'Keefe, June Havoc, Billie Burke, and Pola Negri. The title is a play on the nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle" and the use of diddle as a word for confidence trick. The film features animated portions from Leon Schlesinger's studio with the fast moving screenplay frequently breaking the fourth wall. This film is in the public domain. It's also known as ''Diamonds and Crime'' (American reissue title). Leslie Halliwell in the seventh edition, (page 463), of 'Halliwell's Film Guide' says it was "AKA 'Try and Find It' ". A film still (sometimes called a publicity still or a production still) is a photograph, taken on or off the set of a movie or television program during production. These photographs are also taken in formal studio settings and venues of opportunity such as film stars' homes, film debut events, and commercial settings. The photos were taken by studio photographers for promotional purposes. Such stills consisted of posed portraits, used for public display or free fan handouts, which are sometimes autographed. Leon Schlesinger
Leon Schlesinger (May 20, 1884 – December 25, 1949) was an American film producer who founded Leon Schlesinger Productions, which later became the Warner Bros. Cartoons studio, during the Golden Age of American animation. He was a distant relative of the Warner Brothers. Lorraine Miller (January 5, 1922 – February 6, 1978 ) was an American actress. She is best known for appearing in the film ''The White Gorilla'' (1945). Miller was the daughter of Charles W. Miller, an electrical engineer. She attended Michigan State College before she became an actress. In 1944, a photograph of Miller that was printed on postcards resulted in a lawsuit. She sued Photo Specialty Company, Samuel Goldwyn, and others for $50,000, saying that the widely distributed postcards harmed her career, reduced her earning power, and embarrassed her. Taken when Miller worked for Goldwyn, the photograph showed Miller in black lingerie on a white fur rug and had the caption "Samuel Goldwyn's Most Cuddlesome Blonde". George-Radu Metaxa (11 September 1899 – 8 December 1950) was a Romanian-born American singer, film & stage actor. He was known for his crooning high baritone voice and often portrayed genteel antagonists. Life and career Metaxa was born in Bucharest, Romania, to Nicholas Metaxa and Emilie Theophilatos. Early life Hepburn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was heir to a New York banking fortune.
