HiPhi Concept 1
HiPhi was an electric vehicle brand of Human Horizons, founded by Ding Lei (businessman, born 1963), Ding Lei and headquartered in Shanghai. Its first vehicle, HiPhi X, was released on 31 July 2019. In February 2024, the company halted production indefinitely. Origin of the name At the 2021 World Internet Conference, HiPhi's founder Ding Lei (1963) talked about the background of the company's founding and said that his original intention of founding HiPhi was "integration and innovation", that is, "high integration", so he used "HiPhi" as the brand name. History Founded in 2017, Human Horizons’ Operations and R&D Center is in Pujiang, Shanghai, China. Body in white (BIW) is the stage in Automotive industry, automobile manufacturing in which a car body's frame has been joined together, that is before painting and before the motor, chassis sub-assemblies, or trim (glass, door locks/handles, seats, upholstery, electronics, etc.) have been integrated into the structure. Jiangsu Yueda Kia Motors Co., Ltd. is an automotive manufacturing company headquartered in Yancheng, China and a joint venture between Jiangsu Yueda Group and Kia.
