Carolyn Hanley Hax is an American writer and columnist for ''The Washington Post'' and author of the daily syndicated advice column, ''Carolyn Hax'' (formerly titled ''Tell Me About It''), which features broad relational advice. Originally targeting readers under 30, the column evolved to became more encompassing. Each column features a cartoon by her now ex-husband, Nick Galifianakis. Early life and education Carolyn Hanley Hax was born December 5, 1966, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She grew up in Trumbull, the youngest of four daughters. Her father, John H. Hax, now retired, was director of research planning at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. Her mother was Elizabeth O'Connell Hax (1940-2002). Carolyn Hax graduated from Hopkins School in 1984 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University (1988). Heinrich Hax
Heinrich Georg "Heinz" Hax (24 January 1900 – 1 September 1969) was a German army general and sportsman. His sports career was as a German modern pentathlete and sport shooter who competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics and in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was a career army officer and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Olympic career In 1928 he finished fifth in the Olympic modern pentathlon. Four years later he competed as sport shooter and won the silver medal in the 25 metre rapid fire pistol event. HAX Accelerator
HAX accelerator (formerly HAXLR8R) is an early stage investor and seed accelerator focused on hard tech startups. HAX has offices in San Francisco, Shenzhen, and Tokyo. History Founded in 2011 by Cyril Ebersweiler and Sean O'Sullivan, the roots of the HAX Accelerator were another accelerator program, CHINA-AXLR8R started in Dalian, China in 2009. The first HAX Accelerator program ran in Shenzhen from March to June 2012. HAX, focused on hardware development, includes both a cash investment and product development support in exchange for equity. Startups that are accepted into the program spend 180 days with the HAX team at their locations in Shenzhen and San Francisco. The startups get access to the supply chain and factory ecosystem available in Shenzhen. Haida Language
Haida (', ', ', ') is the language of the Haida people, spoken in the Haida Gwaii archipelago off the coast of Canada and on Prince of Wales Island in Alaska. An endangered language, Haida currently has 24 native speakers, though revitalization efforts are underway. At the time of the European arrival at in 1774, it is estimated that Haida speakers numbered about 15,000. Epidemics soon led to a drastic reduction in the Haida population, which became limited to three villages: Masset, Skidegate, and Hydaburg. Positive attitudes towards assimilation combined with the ban on speaking Haida in residential schools led to a sharp decline in the use of the Haida language among the Haida people, and today almost all ethnic Haida use English to communicate. Hatbox Field is a closed airfield located within city limits, two nautical miles (3.7 km) west of central Muskogee, a city in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, United States. It was opened sometime in the early 1920s and was closed in 2000. It is the location of the Love-Hatbox Sports Complex, a large recreation center and waterpark. The former airfield site includes 10 lighted baseball fields‚ eight lighted softball diamonds‚ two full-size football fields and a 30 acre‚ 19-field soccer area called the Georgia Pacific Soccer Complex.
