Harry Jensen
Henry Frederick Jensen AO, (12 July 1913 – 27 August 1998) was an Australian ALP politician, who served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1965 until 1981. He was also Lord Mayor of Sydney from 1957 until 1965. Born in Newtown, New South Wales, Jensen was educated at Gardiners Road Public School, Marist Brothers High School in Darlinghurst, and St. Joseph's College, Hunters Hill. He joined the Labor Party in 1929. He worked as an electrician and became an organiser within the Australian Electrical Trades Union and a delegate to the Australian Trades and Labor Council. He subsequently established his own electrical contracting business and later worked in footwear distribution. He served as an alderman on Randwick Municipal Council from 1950 until 1956, including Mayor of Randwick from 1954. Lin Gordon
Alan Robert Lindsay Gordon (19 January 1917 – 16 June 2011) was an Australian politician. He was the Labor member for Murrumbidgee in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1970 to 1984. He was Minister for Conservation and Water Resources from 1976 to 1981 (with Conservation replaced by Lands and Forests in 1980), Minister for Local Government and Lands from 1981 to 1984, and Minister for Lands and Ports for a few months in 1984. Gordon was born in Cessnock to baker David Irvine Gordon and Mary Mildred Cleary. He was educated at government schools in Cessnock and after graduating was apprenticed to a pharmacy. He attended the University of Sydney, graduating in 1945. On 6 November 1943 he married Valerie Merle Webber, with whom he had five children. Thomas Lancelot Lewis (23 January 1922 – 25 April 2016) was a New South Wales politician, Premier of New South Wales and minister in the cabinets of Sir Robert Askin and Sir Eric Willis. Ray Maher
Raphael (Ray) Septimus Maher (1 April 1911 – 22 September 1966) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1953 until 1965 and a member of the Labor Party (ALP). Maher was the Speaker of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly between 1959 and 1965. Early life Maher was born in Grenfell, New South Wales. He was the son of a union organizer and was educated at De La Salle College Ashfield and the University of Sydney. Ernest Charles O'Dea (19 February 1889 – 21 November 1976) was an Australian trade union official, Labor Party politician, Lord Mayor of Sydney and Member of the New South Wales Parliament. Early life O'Dea was born in Armidale in 1889 and moved to Sydney with his family as a child. Career O'Dea entered the retail trade and moved rapidly through the trade union ranks whilst in his twenties. The Sydney County Council (SCC) was formed in 1935 to produce electricity and operate the electricity network in a number of municipalities in metropolitan Sydney. Lionel Frost Bowen, AC (28 December 1922 – 1 April 2012) was an Australian politician and senior Labor Party figure, serving in the ministries of Gough Whitlam and Bob Hawke. He was Deputy Prime Minister of Australia from 1983 to 1990. Personal life Bowen was born in the Sydney suburb of Ultimo. His father left the family when Bowen was aged 10 years and Bowen's mother looked after her invalid brother and elderly mother, while working as a cleaner.
