Harrison Nichols (rower)
Harrison Nichols (born 21 July 2006) is an Australian rower of the Australian Olympic Rowing Team, set to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He is best known for winning the 2023 double-gold medal in the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four at the International Para Regatta in Gavirate, Italy and qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics by placing in the World Rowing Championships, Belgrade 2023. Career Nichols has competed under the Hunter Valley Grammar School rowing club since 2019. In February 2023, he was selected as member of the Australian National Rowing Team, competing at the Australian Rowing Championships in Champion Lakes, Western Australia, winning gold in the PR3 Men’s Single Scull and PR3 Mixed Double Scull with Lisa Greissl. Rowing
Rowing is the act of propelling a human-powered watercraft using the sweeping motions of oars to displace water and generate reactional propulsion. Rowing is functionally similar to paddling, but rowing requires oars to be mechanically attached to the boat, and the rower drives the oar like a lever, exerting force in the ''same'' direction as the boat's travel; while paddles are completely hand-held and have no attachment to the boat, and are driven like a cantilever, exerting force ''opposite'' to the intended direction of the boat. Thomas "Birty" William Birtwhistle is an Australian rower. He was a member of the PR3 Mix 4+ team at the 2020 Tokyo . Personal Birtwhistle was born 30 October 1992. He attended Sydney's St Joseph's College. He was struck by a car while cycling to rowing training.. He has completed a Bachelor of Engineering at University of New South Wales in 2013, a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Science at Macquarie University in 2018 and a Master of Teaching Education at the University of Technology Sydney in 2024. Teesaan Koo (born 12 December 1974) is an Australian representative rowing coxswain. He has represented at World Championships spanning a twenty-nine year period from 1994 to 2023. Club and state rowing Over a long career Koo coxed at a number of senior clubs in Sydney and Melbourne including the Mosman Rowing Club and the Melbourne University Boat Club. In Mosman colours he won an Australian national championship in 1994 in the senior men's coxed pair and a senior B men's eight title in 1995. Jessica Gallagher
Jessica Gallagher (born 14 March 1986) is an Australian Paralympic alpine skier, track and field athlete, tandem cyclist and rower. She was Australia's second female Winter Paralympian, and the first Australian woman to win a medal at the Winter Paralympics at the 2010 Vancouver Games. She competed at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, where she won a bronze medal in the women's giant slalom visually impaired.
