Harlan Ellison
Harlan Jay Ellison (May 27, 1934 – June 28, 2018) was an American writer, known for his prolific and influential work in New Wave science fiction, New Wave speculative fiction and for his outspoken, combative personality. His published works include more than 1,700 short stories, novellas, screenplays, comic-book scripts, teleplays, essays, and a wide range of criticism covering literature, film, television, and print media. Some of his best-known works include the 1967 ''Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek'' episode "The City on the Edge of Forever", considered by some to be the single greatest episode of the ''Star Trek'' franchise (he subsequently wrote a book about the experience that includes his original teleplay), his ''A Boy and His Dog'' cycle (which was made into A Boy and His Dog (1975 film), a film), and his short stories "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" (later adapted by Ellison into I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream (video game), a video game) and ... ''Love Ain't Nothing But Sex Misspelled'' is a collection of short stories by American writer Harlan Ellison. It was originally published in hardback in 1968. Ace Books issued an edition in 1983. This edition modified the table of contents by shuffling the order of the material, and replacing nine stories from the 1968 edition with three additional ones. Ellison removed those nine stories from the reissue because they were available in other collections and he had grown sensitive to such overlap. A, or a, is the first letter and the first vowel letter of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, and others worldwide. Its name in English is '' a'' (pronounced ), plural ''aes''. Jacek Yerka
Jacek Yerka (born Jacek Kowalski in 1952) is a Polish surrealist painter from Toruń. Yerka's work has been exhibited in Poland, Germany, Monaco, France, and the United States. His work has been displayed in Polish art museums. Early life Jacek Yerka was born in Toruń, Poland in 1952. He was born into an artistic family with both his parents graduates from a local fine art academy. His earliest memories were of paints, inks, paper, erasers and brushes. As a child, Yerka loved to draw and make sculptures. He hated playing outside, and preferred to sit down with a pencil, creating and exploring his own world. This difference between the other children in his primary school led to social problems with his peers and Yerka describes his primary school life as being a "grey, sometimes horrifying reality". ''Angry Candy'' is a 1988 collection of short stories by American writer Harlan Ellison, loosely organized around the theme of death. The title comes the last line of the poem "the Cambridge ladies who live in furnished souls" by E. E. Cummings, "...the/ moon rattles like a fragment of angry candy." The collection contains the short story "Eidolons", which won the 1989 ''Locus'' poll award for best short story. It also contains the novelette "Paladin of the Lost Hour", winner of a Hugo Award for best novelette and later converted by Ellison into an episode of the television series ''The Twilight Zone'' (1985), as well as the short story "Soft Monkey", which won Ellison his second Edgar Award, in 1988. Founded in San Francisco in 1995 by Jacob Weisman, Tachyon books have tended toward high-end literary works, short story collections, and anthologies. ''Shatterday'' is a collection of short stories by American author Harlan Ellison. In the introduction, Ellison states that the stories reflect an underlying theme of fear of human frailty and ugliness. His goal, he writes, is to shock his readers into seeing that this fear unifies all people. Each story has an introduction, ranging from a single sentence to several pages long. Among the stories in the collection, " Jeffty Is Five" won both a Nebula Award and a Hugo Award. It was also voted in a 1999 online poll of '' Locus'' readers to be the best short story of all time. "All the Lies that Are My Life" had been previously published the same year as a novella.
