Hanadi Jaradat
Hanadi Tayseer Abdul Malek Jaradat () (22 September 1975 – 4 October 2003) was a Palestinian terrorist from Jenin, who blew herself up on Saturday, 4 October 2003 in a suicide attack on Maxim restaurant, a Haifa restaurant co-owned by the same Jewish and Arab families for more than 40 years. She murdered 21 Jewish and Arab Israelis, and injured 51 other people. Among the dead were four Israeli children, including a two-month old infant, and five Arabs. She had been recruited by Islamic Jihad. Background Jaradat was born on 22 September 1975 in the West Bank city of Jenin. At the time of her suicide bombing attack, she was a 28-year-old (12 days away from being a 29-year-old) law student due to qualify as a lawyer in a few weeks. Hanadi Nadeem (born 1972) is an American physician and politician serving as a member of the Nevada Assembly since 2024. A member of the Democratic Party, she was elected in 2024 to represent the 34th district, which includes Summerlin in Las Vegas. Career Nadeem was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and raised in Islamabad, Pakistan, in a family of physicians. She initially moved to the United States for her husband’s medical residency in Philadelphia, then the couple moved to Chicago and finally Las Vegas. Nadeem runs the Shifa Medical Center, a primary care clinic, in Las Vegas. Latakia District () is a Districts of Syria, district of the Latakia Governorate in northwestern Syria. The administrative centre is the city of Latakia. Alawites () are an Arab ethnoreligious group who live primarily in the Levant region in West Asia and follow Alawism, a sect of Islam that splintered from early Shia as a ''ghulat'' branch during the ninth century. Alawites venerate Ali ibn Abi Talib, the " first Imam" in the Twelver school, as a manifestation of the divine essence. It is the only ''ghulat'' sect still in existence today. The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) () is the statistical agency responsible for the gathering of "information relating to economic, social and general activities and conditions" in the Syrian Arab Republic. The office is answerable to the office of the Prime Minister and has its main offices in Damascus.
