Haini Wolfgramm
The Jets are a Tongan-American family band from Robbinsdale, a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Jets are composed of brothers and sisters LeRoy, Eddie, Eugene, Haini, Rudy, Kathi, Elizabeth, and Moana Wolfgramm, who perform pop, R&B, and dance music. They started performing as a family band in 1977. The group enjoyed worldwide success in 1985–1990, performing three world tours, and producing five top-10 hits on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Background The original band consisted of the eight oldest children of Maikeli "Mike" and Vaké Wolfgramm, who were originally from Tonga. The family has 17 children: 15 by birth, and two, Eddie and Eugene, by adoption. The children attended Robbinsdale Cooper High School. The family are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The band initially called themselves Quasar after a now-defunct brand of television sets. Robbinsdale, Minnesota
Robbinsdale is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. Its population was 14,646 at the 2020 census. The city is in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area and is adjacent to the northwest portion of Minneapolis. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has an area of , of which is land and is water. Minnesota State Highway 100 and County Road 81 are two of the main routes in the city. History Shortly after the Minnesota Territorial Legislature created Hennepin County in 1852, John C. Bohanon filed the first claim in the Township of Crystal Lake. Railroads reached the area in 1880. Colin Larkin (born 1949) is a British music writer. He founded and was the editor-in-chief of '' The Encyclopedia of Popular Music''. Along with the ten-volume encyclopedia, Larkin also wrote the book '' All Time Top 1000 Albums'', and edited the ''Guinness Who's Who of Jazz'', the ''Guinness Who's Who of Blues'', and the ''Virgin Encyclopedia of Heavy Rock''. He has over 650,000 copies in print. Early life Larkin was born in Dagenham, Essex. "Sendin' All My Love" is a song by the American sibling group The Jets. It was written by Stephen Bray (who is perhaps best known for his frequent collaborations with Madonna during the 1980s) and Linda Mallah. Released as a single from The Jets' multi-platinum album ''Magic'', the song was not nearly as successful as some other recordings by the group on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, where it stalled at number 88 and only reached number 72 on the R&B chart. "Make It Real" is a song by the American sibling group the Jets, released as a single from their album, ''Magic'' in April 1988. Background Moana Wolfgramm of the Jets recalled: "'Make It Real' was given to us at the eleventh hour .e. last minute We needed a slow ballad henwe were finishing up the last tracks for the 'Magic' album. Our manager Don Powell, Linda Mallah and Rick Kelly wrote this song and it was simple yet very catchy. I remember Liz lizabeth Wolfgrammrecorded it on the road after one of our shows, I think somewhere in Texas." "Rocket 2 U" is a song by the American sibling group, The Jets. It was written and produced by Bobby Nunn. The single, featuring lead vocals by Haini Wolfgramm, received a nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 31st Grammy Awards in 1989. Released as the third single from their album ''Magic'' in 1988, the song was the second most successful single released from the album, peaking at number six on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number five on the R&B chart. "You Got It All" is a song recorded by American band the Jets. It was released in 1986 as the fourth single from their debut studio album '' The Jets'' (1985). It was written by Rupert Holmes, most famous for the 1979 hit "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)", and produced by Don Powell (not to be confused with Slade's drummer) and David Rivkin. Holmes wrote it for his 10-year-old daughter Wendy but she never got to hear it become a hit, as prior to its release she died suddenly of an undiagnosed brain tumour. "Crush on You" is the second single released in 1986 from the Jets' debut album '' The Jets''. The song reached number three on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number five on the UK Singles Chart. Jerry Knight and Aaron Zigman co-wrote the hit single which put the Jets on the charts. Quasar is an American brand of electronics, first used by Motorola in 1967 for a model line of transistorized color television set, televisions. These TVs were marketed as containing all serviceable parts in a drawer beside the picture tube.
